And what a backbreaking schedule that was for a two class 125 driver - ouch!

Not to mention the 100 guys having to do a quick engine change! Coz of the time and my duties, I elected to run only one class instead of changing over the engine and pipe/can and not being able to practice it.
My suggestion for the club, since the day did flow pretty good (lost our tow guy in the bathroom once when he was needed )is to have a quick practice session after the lunch break (1/2 hr.) just to check gearing and maybe scrub another set of tires.

To the SCK. Sunday was our first Road Racing experince, and a great one it was, both my son and I had much fun. Being it was our first time it was definitely a learning experince, but plan on running many more.
Thank You

Debbie,
Thanks for the extra effort to put on the one day schedule. Things seemed to go quite smoothly.
Next time, can you turn-down the desert heat to something under 110? :-)

Hi Debbie,
Is the next SCK race in December? If so, do you know of any other road races between then and now within a few hundred miles?
Thanks,
Gary K.

Gary,
I am not at home right now, but if you could find a Go-Racing, I think NCK has a race at Thunderhill here in Sept (10hrs from Vista) and then Sears Point on Nov. NCK is one day events (I think).
Unfortunately, SCK got booted from Vegas in Oct. so our next race is in Dec (1st weekend). We tried everywhere for another date, anywhere close by but all tracks were booked, or WAY too expensive. Sept. 29th SCK is having a meeting and will be setting next year's schedule, so will keep you posted.

Hello Debbie Gary and all. Please consider joining us in Northern California for our September 29th race and our November 24th race. We will definitely have open practice on Friday September 28th as well as camping at Thunderhill for anyone interested. We are also trying to get a practice day on Friday November 23 at Sears (track layout will be modified for the weekend due to construction). I recommend starting with Thunderhill because you can check out the competition and the weather is most likely to be perfect! The track is safe and the board has been working really hard to keep the racers happy. Both tracks are "drivers" tracks and I always enjoy the So-Cal racers competition. We have been increasing our membership this year so somethings must be going well. Come see me #13 Trackmagic 125 and I will help all I can (email is good too!). |

Thanks for the invite Larry, but two problems. I have an SCK meeting on 29th and November I have family coming out for Thanksgiving and a week or so.
Second problem, our karting trailer was stolen last week. Good news, it was recovered with our stuff in it. Bad news, it was found rolled down an embackment. Tomorrow John and Scott are taking off from work to go through it and see what is salvagable. (Julie and Scotty got to drag it home tonight, frames ok, box is totaled)
Do you still have to join NCK even if coming for only one race? Or now do you (NCK) have an "associates membership" when not running for points, but might race a time or two?
Can't do the drive north all the time, but had fun a few years ago at Thunderhill and definitly had fun at Sears. (Won my first time there!). Deb K |

Hi Deb,
Sorry to hear about your trailer being stolen and wrecked. I have a 125 sit-up shifter you are welcome to borrow if you come up to Thunderhill. I'm selling it as I bought a new one. You do have to be an NCK member ($25)to race, but at least you get the nifty news letter!! |

Thanks Larry, that's sweet. I do have to try a 125 one of these days. And $25 ain't too bad. I stil have that little problem of a meeting to attend though.
We got the trailer back today, it is trashed, but all karts basically survived!!!
A few dents but all important stuff is straight. Trailer is totally trashed though.
