| Quote: | | SKARDELLY ENGINEERING is currently developing a revolutionary 4-stroke kart engine for the DMSB Bambini kart series. At the moment they are driving with 60ccm 2-stroke engines. Due to emission reasons the series tends to go for 4-stroke engines. The main aim of this project was to design an engine which is competible with the 2-stroke engine in terms of cost, maximum power output and maintainence effort. This led to an engine with a capacity of 140ccm which can also be used in higher classes with a minimum of modifications. |
Someone should tell them it already exists....

Yes, it's a little bigger but it already meets all their other design goals, except it's way cheaper _________________ John Matthews

Really cool that they are trying their own unique design, but I wonder is it worth their while. The GX160 with 140 valve springs has been tried and tested for over a decade all over the world in this kind of application, its cheap, offers decent parity and is simple. _________________ GPI Racing | WildKart | Maxter | Hoosier
