Anyone know what's going on down there?

Any results? No news on the SKUSA site?

We should move this to the shifter forum as well, but I am feeling the same way as Jeff.

This is one of SKUSA's triple crown events and there is no updates, promotion, media releases, etc.

I had been to every one of these events and they get smaller every year. I hope that someone will either take over this program seperately or help SKUSA with it.

As a good friend told me a few weeks ago (and I concur), this event has become the "ugly stepchild" of SKUSA events. It isn't promoted or held with very high regard.

What a horrible turn out. I wqas down there yesterday and i would have to say no more than 32 people showed up. Preston Peebeles won the heat race for S1/SuperPro by .024 seconds. They also had Drag racing that night with the karts. Preston ended up winning $100 for coming in first place. With Eric Penz a very very close second. I would have to say that was the best part of the event.

I think this will be a perfect example of what happens when event lacks promotion and proper lead time for competitiors to know what is going on.

Also- over charging for things isn't the way to attract either. I hope people don't think I am blasting anyone. This is as constructive as I can make it.

Marc,

If you think that is overcharging. They are charging $230 for the quad regional race in new mexico, and unlike the LT nationals, no fuel is included. To make it worse, the way Lamkin and SKUSA have set it up, regardless of how one does in our home region, you can't win the championship unless you go to this race 400+ miles away!

Russ-

I have been watching some of that stuff here and there and agree that you guys are getting a raw deal. At least with the LTN's, you have a CHOICE to skip it... but if you are going for a championship... it is putting you in a jam for sure.

I feel for you guys out there. Is there anything that can be done so this won't happen again?

I dont want this to come off as a slam on SKUSA. But I do have to say that their coverage/results/info on their events is TERRIBLE.

I know its not easy to keep up a site. But it is the INFORMATION that keeps us Lower SKUSA guys Intrested in getting to the top.

Hope the info gets better in the future...

On the contrary, Web sites are elementry to "keep up". Todays technology allows anyone that can type update a website. All people want is a short write up, pics and results fast. Very simple with todays internet.
Greg demonstrated this last year with his "almost live" reporting from a skusa race.

Hi Marc, I don't know about next year, I am afraid that since we are all getting screwed to participate this year that the event will be a big success, so it will encourage them to do it the same way next year. The real issue is that the decisions for our region were made between the director of a different region and SKUSA national.
