Deb,
He heard that he wouldn't have to race me in the GN's, and while running to his motorhome to inform his wife, he fell over the concrete jersey-barrier. Really!

DDH, probably didn't happen at the track. RUmor has it that it happened at a local eatery...something about a waitress and potato.

I heard he fell or something and needed stiches, and raced on sunday with stiches in his head.

His wife wasn't at the event, so I know that she didn't bonk him in the noggin with a bottle of the Pico Pica Hot Sauce I send up to her!

Seriously... I hope you are OK tim

Oh Deb, did you HAVE to make this public Not exactly my finest hour....

The basic story - Thursday night after practice and the BBQ, I was officially made an honorary Canadian at Camp Canada. Sometime around 10pm I decided that I had a race the next day, I needed to get some sleep and returned to my motorhome (I more or less remember this much). What I don't remember is that sometime after that the Canadians came and got me from the motorhome for more, ah, initiations (no recollection of this part). After more "initiations", I apparently again returned to my motorhome. Sometime later (actually early the next day), the Canadians again came to my motorhome for aditional initiations. The found me passed out in the motorhome with a bloody towel wrapped around my head to cover a large bump/gash. I was hauled off the the emergency room where they decided I was OK and they stiched up the gash. And I was racing in Controlled Heavy roughly 8 hours later (didn't do too well, can't immagine why ).

You asked

Tim

bummer!

So you don't know what you wacked your head on?

did you have a concussion?

Should we have issued you a DUIOCC (Down under the influence of Camp Canada)? Just Teasing

I didn't know that it was a Camp Canada I thought maybe you had gotten hurt on the track.Glad to hear that it was just another plot against the americans by those canadians!

Race strategy #1 - get the competition plastered the night before , knock em out and tell them they tripped over a camp Cana-dah power cord - stitch him up with some safety wire and charge him $200. for an ER visit and tell him hes in no shape to drive. Those Cannucks been doing this all to often lately.

I was pitted right on the Canadian border and they were the nicest foriegners I have ever met. They didn't party all night or have one bit of fun, so I don't know what Tim is talking about?!! Can anyone else conspire, oh, I mean collaborate Tim's story? Who knows what really happened that night for all we know he was obducted by "aliens". . .

Larry, was it the same aliens that took my husband and all the guys to the local bar called the Dancing BARE???

I had noticed this local business and had laughed at the sign. imagaine my surprise when on a trip to pick up the other driver, and our engine builder my husband and the entire carload of men mysteriously "disappeared" for several hours!

In fact, my husbands memory was erased by these aliens, when I asked how come it took so long to go to the airport, did you stop at the "dancing" bar?.. he just said "uh.... their planes were late".... luckily for us, the aliens DID NOT get our engine builders memory, as in the car on the way to the track the next morning he told me all about the adventure! hehehehehe. BUT!! there planes WERE a bit late...

Darn those aliens and Candians! first the aliens abduct my team, and then the Canadians beat me for best appearing pit crew! Poor Tim Doll just got caught in the middle of it all I guess!

No, don't know what I wacked my head on - I suspect I did it outside the motorhome since there was quite a bit of blood out there (one theory is that I fell backwards going up the steps into the motorhome ). But the first thing I remember (after going back to the motorhome the first time) is being taken to the hospital in a taxi, and not knowing why I need to go .

Apparently no concussion - they gave me a cat scan at the hospital and finally said I was fine - although initially there was concern since they didn't know for sure if my memory gaps where due to the alcohol or the bump on the head.

How to make a race memorable for all the wrong reasons

Tim

And speaking of ridculous rumours.... was it Deb who told us something about "dancing bare"????? hehehehehehehehehhe hehehehehehe

I can see the Karter News now..... And at the Roadrace Grandnationals held at the sprawling Portland International Raceway, the main event featured our own KN Editor "dancin' bare" and Tim "Where am I" Doll getting abducted by "aliens".

It just can't get better than that!

HEY I never said I went to the fine establishment named the Dancing Bare! It had a giant logo of a dancing bear so perhaps it was a typo???

I had to race all week so I has at the hotel watching HBO with my pit puppy PJ!!

Besides, Phil Tanner is doing the story on the RRGN for Karter News... I'm doing the story for my friends at Go Racing. So I doubt if he knows anything about any of these intersting tidbits.
