Hey Dino, long time no talk.

It looks like it's time to move Rancho Los Nietos out of CA. I'm seventh generation Kalyfornian.( I wont turn this into a political discusion) I start a new position covering the Northwest after the holidays. I'll have a couple of years to relocate up there.

And of my biggest concernis that I'm close to a kart track. Shocked Common Hatch or somebody help me out. I'm a California Mountain Boy, Rain isn't my friend. So far it's The Dalles area or Bend.

Steve, you would be hard pressed to find a nicer track than Tri Cities in Richmond. WF friendly and dry ... at least for Washington !

Check out Portland Karting Association. Lots of World Formulas in that club.

Steve
Mike Schorn here. Good to see another WF coming our way.
PKA along with PARC run the OSKCS for the last couple of years and we get a good number of WF's. Then on the regional level(The Gold Cup) the competition is tough but is fair and lots of fun. WE have about 8-10 tracks in the regional level and most all will run WF. Some clubs have more than others. Tri-Cities have some along with PSGKA Tacoma, Seattle Kart Club, Snake River(Boise), Spokane, Chilliwack, Westwood,
Rain yes we do run it and tire of choice is the Bridgestone rains.
A good portion of the WF's also run the Road Races up here and it is just like running Daytona or Talladega sp. one minute you are in front of the draft pack and then the next minute you are at the back of the draft pack.

Give me a call where your up here and we can get you up to speed. Really some of the best racing up here.
More info on the www.portlandkarting.com site

Steve,

FYI. Mike Schorn holds tech clinics on WF and Animal engines.

If I had the choices of places to live and was really into racing, karts or sports cars, Portland or Vancouver, WA, would be the places to live. PIR is a well known road course. http://www.portlandraceway.com/

Then their is Oregon Raceway Park http://www.oregonraceway.com/. It is located near the Dalles http://www.mapquest.com/maps?city=Grass+Valley&state=OR

Mike can fill you in on these tracks.

Thanks for the advise guys. The furthest North I took my WKA West program was to Dixon CA. I knew there was a WF program in the NW , it sounds like a goodone.I was trying to determine if I should start selling off my WK stuff. I looks like it gets packed. I'll contact you guys when I get up there. Now all I've got to do is sell my property in So-cal Rolling Eyes . I hope it's sooner than later. Mike I'll start traveling up there after the 1st of the year. I'll look ypu up when I'm in the Portland area.

Thanks
