This weekend will mark the seventh running of the popular team endurance event - RoboPong 200 presented by Bridgestone at the New Castle Motorsports Park. The 1-mile course in central Indiana will put racers to the challenge of competing for 200 laps around the challenging course with the best in karting racing alongside some of their favorite IndyCar Series and Firestone Indy Lights drivers. On the line, aside from winter bragging rights, will be a $5,000 check to the winning team with fans from across the area lining the fences around the entire course, putting the pressure to the max as the teams will battle for an intense 200 laps on Sunday, October 10.
eKartingNews.com will be providing their ‘Trackside Live’ coverage beginning with updates Friday afternoon during practice. Updates will continue throughout the Qualifying session on Saturday. Sunday will see updates in the thread throughout the 200 lap as well as daily reports, photos, and results. Those wishing to hear the action live are asked to tune into the race broadcast provided by RaceFanRadio.com while some video coverage and live timing can be viewed on the track’s website - newcastlemotorsportspark.com _________________ David Cole

Just came from there & the buzz is already starting. A few of the teams on track doing some testing, a few still doing some assembly. Going to be a perfect weekend for it. _________________ Spec TaG Masters @ NCMP / #23 |

EKN TRACKSIDE: FRIDAY UPDATE 1
Welcome everyone to the 2010 RoboPong 200 presented by Bridgestone. I have settled in after doing my initial walk around. Here is what I saw:
Conor Daly and Graham Rahal were busy working away on their machine. For being out of a kart for a number of years competitively, Rahal looks back at home behind a Birel machine.
Two-time RIGP winner Michele Bumgarner is teamed up with newly crowned WKA TaG champion Robby Bujdoso on a Checkered Motorsports PCR. She seems to be back in the swing of things after being out of a kart since December while Bujdoso met up with IndyCar's Milka Duno during one of the sessions today, resulting in a bent axle.
Last year's winners - IndyCar's Ed Carpenter and Nathan O'Rourke - are working away at finding a comfortable pace and should be in the hunt once again this year.
For former Indy champ Dan Wheldon and teammate Mark Dismore Jr., it's a weight situation. While Dismore is back down to racing weight, Wheldon 'lack of weight' means the kart has to have weight and thus is slowing Jr.'s pace some in their Arrow.
IndyCar Series championship runner-up Will Power and ALMS LMP co-champ are plugging away at getting accustomed to their Kart Mini. Working with Indy Racing Service, they should be able to get up to pace by qualifying tomorrow.
A late entry change for IndyCar's Jay Howard as he moves over to the MKP Birel entry to drive with young star Bill McLaughlin Jr. Howard has been fast here in the past and McLaughlin's local knowledge should put them toward the front.
Remember, if you have any questions, please drop the to us so we can track down the answers for you. Make to the paddock. _________________ David Cole

Will there be a final chassis and engine listing for all, David?
Thanks -

Hi Scott,
Not every team was practicing yesterday thus I will be spending the four hour practice time collecting that info. Chassis info/engine info will be listed with the qualifying results. Thanks. _________________ David Cole
