|
|
We just moved to an Intek class, all stock no motor modifications, just looking for a few speed secrets to get us in the hunt. i think max rpm's we are at is 5600.
I bought the motor and found exhaust valve slightly leaking, so i lapped the valves, seems to be a little better and pulls a little over 30 psi compression.
Help please. |

You need a LOT more than 30 psi . ! ( 150+ psi)
How are you checking it ? _________________ Chad

Checked with a compression gauge and pulling the crank rope 3 to 4 times, i will try a leak down this week.
we struggled again last nite but with some local help improved a great deal with just setup and running the correct line. i think we are on the right track and can start searching for some speed with gearing and carburation, and ever so important seat time. |

I suspect you have a motor with a "decompression" easystart feature that lifts the exhaust valve when you pull it over.
Drop the rocker off the exh valve , and try again. _________________ Chad
