Indycars test at Barber

Despite a little SNOW the Indycar testing at Barber went pretty well.

Most of the drivers learned a whole new feeling of pucker factor with the turn 8/9 complex.

Franchetti learned why you don't downshift entering turn 12 having left the track for a meeting with the barrier.

Lap times in the 1:09-1:11 range, probably 1:05 for the pole come race day.

March 14 kicks off the open wheel racing season with Indycars at the new Sao Paulo street circuit, and F1 at Bahrain.

Who's gonna be watching Indycar this year?

Is the IRL still going to be on Versus?

Last time I checked, DirecTV and Comcast hadn't been able to come to terms that would allow DirecTV to resume carrying Versus.

Which would mean the only "Earl" race I'd be watching is Indy.

Thats the bummer Tim, all they will make is Versus. But I was able to catch a couple races on streaming video last year when I was traveling. It doesn't have the 1080 broadcast quality, but its really cool that you can switch between about a dozen in-car cameras.

I hope they made some major changes to Barber. We were there for testing last year and it was a bit of a parade. Incredible facility, but designed for bikes, not cars.
