You are 100% right. We as racers and racing fans see it as she is an average driver and not worth the hype and the attention. There are alot of great drivers. But not one of those drivers will attract the attention to the average racing fan unless your name is Andretti or Unser. Here in the USA, there is alot of sports to Basketball , Fottball , Baseball , etc.. Racing is not a big sport like it is in Europe and others. Europe has two sports (soccer and racing) it is easy to bring in fans. Here in the USA , with all these sports , it is all about the next big thing. The average sports fans are ban-wagon fans who follow the biggest head lines. Danica is a huge PR powerplay that everyone has heard of and dragged in the hype. The average racing fan is tuning in to see every race and non racing fans are starting to watch just because of Danica. And this is NASCAR we are talking about (the worst form of racing). I walked into a sports bar and they had the sound system set to the race , and this was during college Basketball season.
I like alot of true racing fans are not a Danica fan. She is an average racer that bitches and moans too much for me. She has only won one race due to fuel stragety , is not an aggressive racer , complains that other people are in her way rather than pass them and finishes no better than 6th 7th or 8th. I don't know about you , but if I finish a race in 8th of 20 racers , I'm not happy about my performance. But like many others , I will tune in to watch , she is hot and I like to amagine her wearing a different kind of suit in the drivers seat. |

And you say she bitches and moans? Have you read your post? Average racers don't race in the big leagues. You have to be above average. Have you ever raced against her?

Hey Tom
I'm a little interested to see her stats (not enough to search myself) from karting till now lets see how impressive she is.
I really don't know much about her other than she has a nice butt!  I been in France the last 10 years and most "racers" here have Never heard of her.
Lets face it if she looked like Hillary Clinton she wouldn't be where she is today!! I'm just saying!!

Tom, the comparison I'm making is not to recreational racers but to the professional racers she competes against. I don't think anyone has suggested she doesn't deserve the rides she has. The excessive hype has nothing to do with her talent and everything to do with her gender and appearance. Her talent and results in the IRL is average. |

Tom , to answer your questions. Yes I read my post , you didn't if you only got the point of me saying she bitches and moans. Yes she bitches and moans too much (her temper tantrum , that was funny , her post race interviews about other drivers , pushing Dan Weldon and Milka Duno , calling rookie and part time racers stupid and don't belong out there when they race next to her and an accident occurs).

Mike, I'm guessing by the # of posts, you're new here. You will figure out in very short order that you don't have to ask Tom for his thoughts on a subject. He will freely offer his thoughts on every subject and almost without fail will be wrong.  |

My two cents will quickly turn into several dollars rather quickly. I love her but court orders keep me at least 500 feet away.

Yes , I'm new to the ekarting forum , but not new to karting or the racing world. Just enjoy the good dicussions and interaction of others with lots of different views (good and bad) . I , like many others , like to voice my opinion. Thanks guys. |
