I actually liked the 09 cars. But this year's cars are wayyyyyy to long looking. That fuel tank has them so stretched it looks ridiculous. _________________ T.J. Koyen

| Compared to the IRL cars, even the current crop of F1 cars look sharp. |

| I'm pumped about this season, but I was definitely disappointed with the designs this year. The 2008 cars were atrocious, and in 2009 it was a step in the right direction. We took a step backwards again this year. F1 needs to get rid of the shark fins, all the add on aero stuff like the 7 level front wing, and ditch the high nose. I hate seeing a car where you know the drivers feet are elevated above his chest. Also, drop the height of the cockpit sides as well. The days where you could see the drivers helmet were great, now you are lucky if you can see 1/2 the visor.....Rosberg had issues in the first test where he could not see out of the car.....an open cockpit F1 car and he could not see out of it....... |

I'm afraid the high cockpit sides are here to stay due to safety concerns. As ugly as I think the current crop of cars are, and as much as I liked being able to see the drivers at work, keeping potentially deadly debris out of the cockpit is critical. I don't have a problem with legitimate safety improvements.
Wings don't make the car more safe - if anything increasing cornering speeds with all that downforce makes the cars less safe. Get rid of them, or at least make a rule that says you get x square inches (or centimeters) of wing (and make "x" a small number). You can use that wing area any way you'd like, but that's all you get. ANYTHING aerodynamic that can be construed as producing downforce or that doesn't reduce aero drag counts as a wing.
And get rid of the carbon brakes.

Is there a regulation preventing someone fitting a "fighter style" lexan cocpit cover ??
It would keep out debris, possibly let us see a bit more of the driver, and improve aero to the motor etc.
..but i guess its not allowed
The More i see of these " limos" the more i think some of them will be finding it difficult to get round Lowes hairpin at Monaco !! _________________ Chad

Its amazing to see the teams using their 'traditional' colors.
Lotus - green
Merc - Silver
Renult -Yellow
Ferrari - Red
What color will USF1 be if they ever build / paint a real car ? _________________ The wheel is turning and you can't slow down,

I like the look of the new Renault a lot!
I agree that getting back to traditional colors is awesome.
USF1 I hope has a more in store than they are letting on. I got word about a week ago that they actually have a nearly complete car. Though, it could be a completely false haha. Of course, they should have been on track last week. _________________ http://www.Chrislivengood.net
