If the wing proportions were correct they'd look fantastic, but they are not Sad

This is what a Formula 1 car is supposed to look like.

I agree, Marty. Those cars look good.
IMO, All the aero devices and wings have made F1 cars ugly for several years now. I'm sure these things work. After all, they spend a lot of money to get any advantage they can, but they are just plain ugly. Confused

Ferrari 312T3 just doesn't get much more sleek that this...looks like it's doing 200MPH at 60MPH

I agree F-1s hit their peak in the mid-70's. Still even today's F1s are way cooler than the cookie cutter NAPCARS...........................................

My wife and Grand-kids think the new style f-1 cars remind them of a Preying mantis bug Laughing Could they take anymore off the front ends?

They look to fragil to me. They look like they would break in half if they hit my sons nerf football at 60 mph.

You've got me started now, sorry to the topic originator for hi-jacking the thread, but these vehicles have such great design lines.

Brabham Formula 1 cars

I find the new F1 absolutely exotic looking, but what the hey, have you ever seen a bad looking F1?

I guess what I like is that they all look different- it's not a spec series, or a series with only 1 or 2 manufacturers.

It's like Indy use to be. It's interesting to look through old photos and how the cars were radically different in design.

Yeah, I enjoyed Indy cars more back when. Novi, Ford, Chevy, (even one out of a old school bus), Offy etc. I've only been to Indy once, back in the early 70s, but the cars not only didn't look alike, it seemed like each one sounded different.
Really cool. not like the spec series they run now. Sad

The smaller front tires are a plus, but I agree they should swap the front & rear wings to improve aesthetics! If they painted all the cars white, you would have a hard time telling one from another.

I found it interesting that the rear wings on F1 cars are now narrower than those on formula continental cars. Pretty wild considering a really good FC has about 150 Hp

I don't mind the look of the current cars. At least the slick tires bring back a look of genuine race car. The cars early 2000 are the ugliest of all f1 cars. The X-Wing Ferrari. Come on. Hideous!
