|
|
Just got my new kart and have some questions:
I see numerous competitive series with various classes.
However, I do not see any B&S or other 4-cycle classes. ?
Are these just at the local club level?
Are those young wipper-snappers discriminating against us old farts?

Paul,
It really all depends on what type of racing you are talking about...oval?..sprint (road course)?...enduro (big track)?
Where are you located?...that has a huge amount to do with it.
Give us some info and we can fill you in. _________________ High Quality American Made kart stands. Available direct to you or through one of our many dealers.

Tim,
I live on the Left Coast. To be exact Washington State.
They have a Gold Cup in this area.
I went to the forum's section that lists events.
However, I am not smart enough to get it to work.
Thanks. |

4 Cycle is alive and well here in the Northwest. If you are sprint racing or road racing the World Formula is the class to be in.
Give us some info on the kart engine and what your schedule etc is and we can point you in the right direction.
A good sight with information for the northwest is www.portlandkarting.com
If you have any other questions please do so and we'll get you set up.
Welcome to racing in the Northwest.

| Lots of 4-cycles running ovals - both asphalt and dirt - in eastern 2/3 of country. Not much Sprint racing any more except Gold Cup series and clubs. We run Animals - Med. & Hvy. - at the Rock Island Grand Prix. |

Mike,
I have the B&S World Formula Engine. My schedule is a moving target. Four weeks ago I got the kart new but not preped - but at this time no oil in the engine, etc.
I wish I lived closer to Portland. This summer I did a few lapping days at PIR with my SC Miata. My goal was to get to Grass Valley. However, it was getting to expensive. So I am in process of selling all the performance parts on my Miata.
My driving instructor at the PIR classes is one top 3 Spec Miata amateurs in Oregon. When I told him that I bought the kart he got real excited.
Hope to meet you one of these days. I will be at the back of the pack.

The great thing about our Class you maybe at the back your first race but it will not be long cause we as a group don't allow that. We will work with you to get you up to speed as fast as we can. Its no fun if you aint racing with someone. Have to warn you though, we are an experienced bunch that likes to race hard and bench race even harder with a cold one in hand.
A note to ya. We will be a the Gold Cup Conference Nov. 14-15 Double Tree SouthCenter. Seattle. Come by and meet us. I sent you PM with more of the details.
