Hi guys, I'm about to buy a 2008 CRG Kali and a Briggs World Formula engine. As I'm still preparing my self for local competition and getting all the stuff I need (man is my wife going to be pissed!!) I found out that the minimum weight for our local races is 350 lbs.
So here is my question, I weight about 150 lbs, and I got no idea how much the CRG and engine weight, from your experience how much weight do you think I'll need to add to the kart to be over 350lbs??
Oh I just thought of another silly question, how much fuel do these things use? Would I be ok for a practice day with 2 gallons of fuel?
Thanks in advance

Two gallons of fuel will go a long way. At least 3 visits to the track with a lot of laps. Don't know if you are using an on board battery but with out one your kart should weigh in the 170 # area. Looks loke you'll be adding 30 # or so. _________________ I breathe ,therefore,I race |

Thank you very much, I actually got a one gallon container, and was hoping not to have to get another one, so this is good news.
I think we use an onboard batery, not sure. 30 lbs, sounds like a lot
Any other advice for a new driver?
Tips on getting the kart on the stand and of by myself?
Thanks again

Unless you have a one man operation type kart stand don't attempt it by yourself. I go to the track often by myself and there is usually help available just by asking nicely. As far as tips for a new driver , take it easy and work your confidence level up. More seat time equals more learning.Always go about it as a means to have fun. It's not easy , but the results are worth the headaches. _________________ I breathe ,therefore,I race |

You picked a nice package with the Kali and the WF. Bernie is leading you down the right path as well.
Be happy you're not trying eliminate weight. It's easy to add it. For extra weight, keeping the elec starter/battery is a good start.
