Just wanted to say that once again it was a fantastic event! Although the numbers were down it definitely didn't lead to a lack in competition, walking around the grid and checking out some of the other karts it looked to me as though most teams had come more prepared for grueling 200 mile challenge than ever before. It was alot of fun, although my team had to overcome quite a bit with an engine change and getting tangled up early on. Already looking forward to next year and the IRON MAN! Hopefully everyone there this weekend will make the trip again in three weeks .
I'd also like to say that IMO Mark senior is the most logical, fair, down to earth race director I have ever had. The event ran smoother than any other national event I have been to in a long time and he made the right calls when they needed to be made. Thanks again for another great event mark |

RoboPong was great today, after an engine change this morning we started 47th Mason Madej and I drove a fast smart race, and along with some great pit team work we finished 3rd. This was our first year running and if I could enter for the 2010 RoboPong 200 tomorrow, I would.
Thanks Mason, Mark, Andy, Ken, Carrie, Karen, Devin, Andy D, Keith and Toby.
Thanks Mark Dismore and everyone NCMP that make this race happen year after year. Looking forward to next year. _________________ Dont think your the best,,Think to be the best.. |

I want to thank Mark and the entire New Castle staff - what a great event! Trophies are nice but a check spends a whole lot better!
Plus thanks to Greg Wright at Rapid Racing. The Racetoadomain.com / RapidRacing team had a great weekend. Despite a trip into the legos where we impelled the rear bumper bolts into the plastic and lost time getting the kart un-stuck plus getting forced into the pit lane by a lapped kart who apparently didn't want to get lapped; we had a very good day.
We were also on a 4 stop schedule so I guess we need to work on our fuel economy for next year. We did a 4 tire stop as we were concerned about lasting 200 laps and that worked well.
I do think that the economy had a big impact on the entries plus the number of events being held over the past week. The supported Top Kart teams were a no-show and I suspect that was because of the economy and there appeared to be fewer ‘big top’ teams.
But Mark and the Dismore family are committed to making this the best karting event in the country. I wouldn’t bet against them! _________________ Mike Martz

There is a nice although short write up on the Robopong 200 on www.indycar.com
I thought this years race had a more distinct "endurance" feel to than ever before, and although the finish wasn't as tight as in past years it was a great event and after speaking with some race sponsors I have reason to believe that next year will be bigger and better.
Mike Martz, Thank you, yourself, Kevin and the Kessingers deserve the credit and I"m pretty sure the amazing Gooseman was more than a little help.
Tentatively we will have winners Ed Carpenter and Nathan O'Rourke, and the second place team of Ben Payne and Michael Busse live in studio Tuesday night (September 29) at 9:00 Eastern time on Karting News Live on www.racefanradio.com
The archived version of the broadcast of this years race should be available sometime today (Monday) if anyone missed it. _________________ Greg Wright

Yeah Jeff thanks a lot for that info.
We have to work on getting them to change the rules allowing 10liters of fuel for next year so a Rotax can have a chance. _________________ Dont think your the best,,Think to be the best.. |

If I had two drivers on mine, we were going 50 laps with the amount to probably go 60 if needed. I know I could have the first time out. I came in with the fuel about at the sloch crease. Russ had more than that left ! I wanted to try a long run and see, but still wanted to finish ! And to be honest, we were a bit rich also ! _________________ Racing is a State of Mind ! ... We have now confirmed that tonight (Tuesday September 29) on "Karting News Live" on racefanradio.com we will have live in the studio The winning team of Ed Carpenter and Nathan O'Rourke, plus the second place team of Michael Busse and Ben Payne.
Having the guests in the studio rather than by phone link is always warmer and more fun.
Looking forward to tonight's show, you can also catch the show after tonight on the "Mutimedia on Demand" player.
It's been a fun few days. _________________ Greg Wright

Really??
See running only 9 liters of fuel we both tested with 2 different 09 Rotax with 2 different karts and at 42-43 laps we started to pull air from the tank; Mason made 46laps and I made 48 laps. And we were being real easy on the pedal after we started sucking air so we didn’t lean out too much.
We needed 6-10 laps to do it safe on 3 stops.
Our bigger carburetors cause us to use a lot more fuel.
Leopard uses a 23mm Carburetor.
Rotax uses a 34mm Carburetor. _________________ Dont think your the best,,Think to be the best.. |

I made it to lap 65 w/ a 8.5 litre tank...could have squeezed a couple more but it wasn't worth the risk...I started conserving on the 1st parade lap...which means it actually went 68 laps, 65 of which were green flag...not bad I guess.

Hey Brian, THX for the assist. James, the co-driver, has a fracture (non-displaced) of his tibia(shin bone) and 3 torn ligaments in his knee. The worst is the ACL which will require surgery once the bone heals...
I might need a new frame...got any extras??
THX to the Dismores and everyone at NCMP for putting on an awesome event! Special thx to Mike Adams as well. _________________ My imaginary friend says your crazy. |
