I'd like to try some different colored springs on my premier titan clutches but a trip to the kart shop every time is too expensive. Does anyone know where can I find a decent easy to use clutch spring tool?

Thanks.

Ummm...

We improvised a method of installing the orange springs into a brand new clutch that we had as a spare. Took three pairs of hands and a lot of straining to get the job done. IOW, NOT something we will be attempting again. If there is such a jig/tool available, don't try changing springs without it, IMO. If ever we want to swap again, it is off to the kart shop!

I designed a clutch tool that you can purchase thru Onpoint Motor Sports. His number is 651-783-5716.It's very easy to use I can send you a video clip of how it works to remove and install the clutch shoes and springs. Send me your e-mail address to badams@itwbgk.com and I will e-mail you the video file

Here are the links to the videos that I placed on youtube

Folks -

I rely on Roger at Kartorama for nearly all my karting supplies, first because of his extensive knowledge, second because his commitment to support Northwest Karting is un-paralleled, and third because he's a good guy.

That being said I can tell you this tool works very well (used it this weekend) and could come in very handy in a pinch at the track. It makes changing clutch springs fast and easy.

If you are looking for the spring/puck assembly tool referenced and shown in the linked videos, did you try the phone number?

Note:

The tool shown is for mounting a pre-assembled set of pucks and springs onto the center hub. Rather than replacing the springs, if I had to do it again, I'd be buying one of more of the spring/puck assemblies, and getting or making a nifty tool like the one shown to put them on the hub.

YMMV,

Alan
