|
|
This week is the Official Rotax Week here on eKartingNews.com with the running of the Rotax Max Challenge USA Grand Nationals at the Oklahoma Motorsports Complex.
The event officially begins Tuesday with the first official day of the event, including registration and scrutineering, followed by a Welcome Dinner. The first official practice day is Wednesday. Teams have already made their way to Norman, Oklahoma for unofficial practice through the weekend and today (Monday). Much of the weekend was hampered by rain, which always seems to find its way to the Grand Nationals. Rain is forecasted Monday thru Wednesday with Thursday thru Saturday set to be possible rain free.
eKartingNews.com will begin its coverage Wednesday with a preview of the event along with updates from the official practice day, including forum updates of the final practice session for each class. The remainder of the event will see more forum updates along with daily reports, full results, and photos until the six national champions are decided. _________________ David Cole

David,
Practice was wet this weekend, but overall went very well. The local weather station is saying that we should see dry conditions and in the mid 80's by Wed. all thru the weekend. Now if we can get the pits to dry up, all will be great. The Berryhills have been working very hard to make everyone's stay here an enjoyable one. This should be a good week for everyone involved. Good luck to all of the drivers and teams. _________________ Shut up and Drive !!!!

We'll have the entry list with the Preview on Wednesday.
Schedule as follows:
Wednesday - Practice
Thursday - Qualify and Heat 1 Rounds
Friday - Heat 2 & 3 Rounds, LCQs
Saturday - Prefinals, Finals
I'm not sure if RMC USA has a time schedule on their website, I only have a paper copy but I'll be sure to let everyone know the morning of what will be going on. _________________ David Cole

here is a link to the online version of the official program.
Total count is over 180 the actual official number will be announced later in the week. As it stands now we will have 3 LCR races in Mini Max, Junior and Senior.
The day was very overcast and a slight mist a couple of times. The first practice round was on wets but by the second round everyone was on dry tires for the remainder of the day. The water is receding some and some pits are getting an opportunity to start drying. If it stays dry tomorrow by Wed we should be in decent shape and definitely by Thursday when we start with Parc Ferme. |

That homepage also currently has a link for "the live video stream on Friday and Saturday, September 18 & 19". I'm assuming radio & video coverage will only be available on Friday and Saturday; and full coverage will come from the remarkable David Cole and EKN, here in this thread and via feature stories. _________________ Aluminos |

And maybe http://lsrmotorsports.mylaps.com will have timing results? Marshall, will the times be uploaded live or at the end of each day? Will there be a live MyLaps Monitor feed online anywhere?
... can't wait! _________________ Aluminos |

| We will not have a live timing feed. EKN will provide details thru the course of the day. Before we shut down, once tech if final at the end of each day, we will upload the days results. This will be done before we leave the track. |

Hi Patrick,
I just settled into the OMC Scoring Tower after an early morning flight. With the announcement of the Challenge of the Americas, we wanted to give it some time as Top Story this morning before we published the preview, which willl be up shortly. It will also include the provisional entry list.
Official practice is underway with the third round for each group taking place. The fourth and final practice session will begin around 3:30 local time and we will have the top-ten from each group posted here along with the official lap times later tonight.
The weather is dry right now after a wet first session. The track seems to be getting more grip but clouds are still in the area, keeping mechanics working hard between sessions. _________________ David Cole
