I have seen guys run a pulley or metal tube with a 90deg curve where the throtle cable goes into the top of the carb on a world formula. It looks like it would give you a smoother pull on the cable and better control. Where can you buy these? I looked at APS and Comet and couldn't find anything. Question

I suppose you could use a pulley, but realistically, while flexible, throttle cables are not meant to be bent into too small a radius. Like all stranded cables, they can separate and even kink if bent too far, and the friction level would increase with a smaller radius too. Personally, I perfer to run the longest cable, (72"?) and bring it up around thebackside of the engine area and down to the carb, making a very large loop. out of the way, no binding, sticking, etc....

These just look cleaner to me. They look like the tubes used on linear pull (V-Brakes) brakes or what is known as a rollamajig.

The inner cable doesn't mind the tight bend its the cable housing that kinks up and binds the cable. I just want to know if there are ones specificly made for karts.

Ok, if you say so. Personally I prefer to keep the cable in as big a radius as possible everywhere. Sraight = less friction/wear. Seems to me bike brakes would have stronger return mechanisms than a carburetor too (springs).

I will have to exparament and see. Thank you for the suggestions.
this is what I'm refering to by the way. I don't think your going to get much resistance from these devices.

I'm in the camp of why add complexity to a throttle set-up? The more stuff you put there the more likely it will stick wide open at the worst possible time.

But, if you just gotta have it try EC Birt.

Good luck,

Thank you very much. They have the component I'm looking for.

Well not quite their's is for an animal carb. I called him and it wouldn't work but at least that was a shove in the right direction.

Thanks
