So my local club runs this class. I run yamaha classes mostly. My experience with 4 cycle karts is limited. What is the wear and tear and maintainece on the motor and drivetrain like vs yamaha.

I am thinking of picking up a motor for this class and running it also, just wanna know costs and things to lookout for before i get one.

We ran both Animal and CIK can for a season in CES. Our maintainance cost were about 1/2 of what it took for the KT.

KT hone, piston, ring, carb kit, clutch rebuild every other race if you want to run in the front, $200 min. Tires $190. 2 cycle fuel oil. LO206 change the oil after the main and a set of raptor tires for the whole season.

We ran our animal modifieds (on alky)with the F200's (on gas) here in central CA, and could pull them by 4 kart lengths on re-starts and out of the corners. I have a fully modified gen 5 animal modified for sale. POSTED IN CLASSIFIEDS under briggs and stratton animal modified, 10 14/09.
