He would never race in G1?
Now, if only the other 32 that finished ahead of me would take the hint...

| Great interview David. The Rudolphs are obviously part of the historic foundation of the Rock Island Grand Prix and a classy family all the way around. If my memory is right, until this past year Alan had been at every one of our 14 races but one. And the Bondurant School offers great opportunities are karters to become better racers, as noted in your interview. I hope I'm around to see Aden run the streets at Rock Island !! |

It was. He sounds like a good dad and his son will have a great driving coach. _________________ Sex is like pizza. When it's good it's great and when it's bad, it's still pretty good. |

David,
Having raced with Alan for many years, I was excited to see that you asked the one question of importance; how Alan keeps his hair looking so good. I've been asking him this for at least 15 years, and he's never told me. I was hoping that as a hard-nosed journalist, you'd get the answer. I was truly disappointed to see that you allowed him to escape the answer yet again.

Joe,
I'd just like to know how he keeps his hair, period. Mine just seems to keep falling out.
Alan,
How do you keep your hair looking so good? _________________ Sex is like pizza. When it's good it's great and when it's bad, it's still pretty good. |

Thanks everyone. Not to show Alan's age, but when I started racing karts, he was always one driver I looked up to. Now, its a pleasure just to know Alan and his family personally. _________________ David Cole

| Talented, articulate, good looking, dedicated, determined--the blond Jeff Gordon is what I have always called him. I still think he could start in any Indy 500 and take a car to a podium finish. Alan worked very hard but always made it look effortless. I wish Alan and his family a terrific Christmas and New Year, and I look forward to watching another "little" karter make his way up the ladder to success. Alan, you are a terrific guy and an incredible racer. You are truly THE BEST! |

To add to this... when I began racing Yamaha Sprint, Alan and Erik Erickson were the guys to beat... running Buller karts and rocking the road racing action.
I was lucky enough to win races against him - which always put me in awe as he carries so much respect with him wherever he goes from racers. When I tried my hand at street racing, it was Alan and his dad that came over, having known me from the enduro ranks and LOANED me a set of wheels and tires to try so I could actually be competitive (they saw that I had struggled with what we had brought with us). I learned a lot from him and he was an open book. I took that approach as well, thanks to him, and was happy to share parts, set-ups and information whenever it was needed.
Thanks Alan! You have always been a racer and friend I have admired, respected and looked up to.... even though you have never aged according to your bio

I know his true age. Unfortunately, he made me sign a $10 million hush contract when I needed it for license.
Sorry, I have to either make a ton of money so I can let the cat out of the bag or take it to my grave.
the last several years racing with him has been some of the coolest experiences in my life. Road America in P2 while short lived, was an absolute awsome experience. and he was ok in a gokart as well.
never imagined that taking a driving school would have netted me such a great friend. Thanks bro, it was and continues to be an awsome ride!
Ah what the heck, it's only money. He is 27 years old! There you go. The mystery is solved. |
