It's that time...as the Superkarts! USA SuperNationals is set to take place this weekend. Making the return to the Rio Hotel and Casino for the 12th annual event, this year's event is shaping up to be the biggest and best SuperNationals yet.
eKartingNews.com will have complete coverage of the event including three straight days of previews before heading into the 'Trackside Live' coverage on Thursday when the karts hit the temporary circuit outside the Las Vegas resort. _________________ David Cole

The biggest race of the year. With 400+ entries, hope they'll be able to fit everyone in the paddock.
Anybody who has been reading Dave Stevens' blog about the Supernationals will be aware that the track might be a bit bumpy this year. Has anyone else over there now gotten a first-hand view of the surface?
For anyone doing a comparison, here are the entry numbers from LAST YEAR'S event, these numbers are from Qualifying in '07:
2007
SuperPro - 46
S1 - 30
S3 - 37
S4 - 34
S5 - 17
G1 - 40
Tag Sr - 74
Tag Mst - 31
Rotax Sr - 39
Rotax Mst - 25

As bad as I was last year, I didn't think I would miss not going this year but I'm wrong. Of course, a week of travel and sucking at the SNats in Vegas is always better than a week at work and home.
Good Luck and safe travels to all those involved, especially those travelling from Texas. |

I tried to get you to go Brad. We will miss you in S4 this year as the three of us moved to stock for this race. Would have been nice to have some friends in the back half of the grid. See you when we get back.

Got some track shots and video to put in in the next little while. The track is going to be fast. There are some spots that are marked for grinding and filling before Thurs.
ON EDIT: Pix up now, raw video soon.

Trust me John, it's not that I didn't want to go! This year after everybody like Countrywide Mortgage, Chrysler Financial, etc. etc. got done with me there wasn't much to put in the kart fund. Next year might be worse but maybe I can go. One can hope anyway.
Good luck to everybody. |

Anyone have any predictions on how Weldon is going to do at supernats?
After watching him getting upset at robopong from being pushed, supernats tag racing should be interesting. _________________ Like a fat kid playing dodge ball. |

| What a nice compliment to the event to have Dan Weldon participate. Dan is a very good kart racer (I watched RoBoPong) and doesn't just ride along. To have professional car racers in the field makes it even more interesting. And I hope the competitors get a chance to meet Dan--he is a great person in addition to being a terrific racer. |

Hey David,
Where is the TagMasters prov entry list? Why is it that the T.M. always gets the short end of the stick? _________________ Shut up and Drive !!!!
