This week on EKN is dedicated to the Snap-on Stars of Karting presented by IndyCar Series as the National Finals will take place this weekend at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway in Nevada. Five drivers will be crowned the national champion in their respective classes along with the divisional champions crowned Friday prior to the race.

Today, Stars releases the track design as we set you up with the week schedule. Tuesday EKN looks at the championship chases in JICA and Cadet. Wednesday we examine TaG and TaG ICC with Thursday dedicated to the ICC division.

The EKN team is now en route to Las Vegas for the Stars of Karting National Finals, arriving this afternoon to set up for a weekend's worth of coverage. We're expecting a great weekend of competition as both finals will count towards the

The newly-restructured Stars of Karting staff (see today's Top Story) will be unveiling some of its plans for 2009 at the Friday night banquet, and we'll have a full overview on Saturday.

Wow just saw the ICC entry list and just one month ago Speeds were on the Energy kart and now I see they entered with Tony Kart...What is the deal...Did Energy not have the backing like Trackmagic?? 3 chassis Manufacturers in less than 2 months...This is worse than Nascar Silly Season!!!!

Happy? Of course not. It hasn't been that long since 40 plus entries were the norm.

Merely making an observation. Heck I wish they had 50 of'em.

I think maybe the Supernationals is really starting to overshadow this event. Also you have those that are in a points chase and others that are getting ready for the Supernationals using this race. I'm guessing that old economy thing might have a say in this to.

I can understand why the entry counts were so low at the previous race in Washington State. But the relatively low entry numbers in ICC and TaG for the STARS finals are a bit surprising.

But Keith is probably right as to why that is the case.
