The patience lasted until lap 2.

Great race but I can't ever recall that many crashes let alone the amount of damage done. It is still one of the best events in the country. NCMP does a great job in handling the event.

Thank you to New Castle Motorsports Park, all their staff and volunteers for another amazing event. To Terry Riggins for running a great race. And to all the other competitiors (except for that one idiot that came in pit out and ran full speed through 2/3s of pit lane against traffic - good thing I couldn't find you dude) everyone was truly professional out there. First RoboPong in four years that didn't have karts scattered on the first lap I think.

We had a great crew and drivers. Especially Lynsey Tilton who picked up a 3rd stint when Tracy's back gave out part way through her's. Lynsey has talent, smarts and the perfect balance of aggression and sense. Anyone would be lucky to have her drive for them.

Special thanks to Central Ohio Kosmic dealer Mike Unger of Kartworks, Inc., Bill Willis of POWERsports for a strong and reliable engine, INFONETICS, Inc. and Max Speed Karting.

Another great Robopong 200! This is my third year competing and I plan not to miss the next. No other event can stand up to this one right now imo. $1,000 for 10th...that is just awesome!!

I wouldn't say there weren't any incidents. There was actually a pretty big one on lap 63 when a driver wasn't using his head and took out two drivers... and destroyed one kart. Luckily everyone involved were ok.

Glad he nor anyone else was not hurt, but Billy sure put a new definition of putting the play "out of bounds". Start/Finish straight is REAL fast when you're going backwards - SPECTACULAR finish!

I want to congradulate Kyle Demeter on an awsome effort. Qualifyed 6th but had start 84th. Good job going from 84th to 18th by lap 50. Sorry the motor broke in practice dude. As for the radiator and that upside down kart that it hit, thats just bad luck.
Your the best driver I've ever worked with. Thanx for running with us.

I have posted five videos that add up to about 50 minutes of video from the RoboPong.

I think this link will get you to them.

I don't like the rotax max as many will know. It's just an awful moped engine put on a kart chassis!

HOWEVER can someone explain why 1 person was running them in a field full of Leopards? For an endurance event why didn't more people go with the Rotax, just out of interest?

Alan,
I believe because most Rotax drivers believe they can not compete with a Leopard due to the differences in powerband. Rolling Eyes

but looking at the onboard it doesn't look to bad for a rotax, and a rotax got pole? Added to that this is an edurance race where ultimate speed isnt the key to winning....

I am glad that people are choosing a more kart-like engine to go racing with tbh just a bit mythed as to why more people weren't using the MAX considering the benefits that engine 'supposedly' has

My on board is Leopard power, just to make sure that is known. Perhaps someone saw a Rotax in the video?

I knew you were on a leopard in the video, but the actual circuit itself didn't LOOK too 'stop and start' that would kill a rotax. In fact it looked like it would suit a rotax somewhat.

Just wondering if there was another reason as to why people were all on Leopards (or similar engines)

Alan, Despite the fact that a Rotax was on pole it could not duplicate that performance on race day.

As a general rule the Rotax has not been competitive at NCMP. Despite your impression of the nature of the track you have a couple of 35 mph corners leading onto 900' plus straights.
That seems to kill the Rotax.

Just my observations.
