Beginning September 8, eKartingNews.com will begin 'Rotax Week' - dedicated to the coverage of the 2008 Rotax Max Challenge USA Grand Nationals at the USA International Raceway in Shawano, WI. Many of the teams and competitors have made their way to the small town northwest of Green Bay for a week long battle to be crown a national champion and represent the United States at the Rotax Grand Finals in LaConca, Italy at the end of November.

Drivers will have three days of unofficial practice on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday (according to the official event website http://www.kartreg.com/gn2008/html/schedule.html) before the official kick off to the event begins Tuesday with technical inspections and welcome party.

eKartingNews.com will begin the coverage of the event on Monday with a complete preview of the event and will also anchor the on-air broadcast coverage of the event through RaceFanRadio.com. The Monday preview will include the broadcast schedule for eKartingNews.com Rob Howden and David Cole.

This discussion will be home for updates throughout the weekend including the prompt EKN Top-Ten from each on track session beginning Wednesday at the end of the day for practice.

If you have any questions or comments, please post them here. Thanks and enjoy Rotax Week @ EKN!

Looks like there may be lots of opportunities to test the new rain tires:

Lately, the U.S. Rotax GN seems to be frequently hit with weather.

They could almost (almost) compete with STARS in that category of incliment weather events.

Entry List?

Don't forget to say hi to all the boys as they broadcast live at the track on racefanradio.com. We'll be taking emails while we're here, so drop us a line and tell us who you want to give a shout-out to or who you're rooting for and we'll try and read it on air! Send them to Submit@racefanradio.com.

*edit* We're already in Shawano, and so far the weather is a little bit unfavorable, so make sure you being sweatshirts and rain gear. No rain so far, but we are missing the weather we had at Rock Island. Anyone driving up from the south needs to bring some warmth with them or else!

Mark,

The fastest way to find results will be to keep EKarting News and Race Fan Radio on. MyLaps results will be posted at the end of the day as soon as time permits.

We will do everything possible to get all the results posted as soon as the days events are done.

If David will be updating like he was at Rock Island, you will know the top finishers on air as soon as we get them (We'll have a timing and scoring monitor at our booth hopefully) and he will be able to post the same results on the forum. He seems to be pretty on the ball about getting the information out in a timely manner. Hope this helps!

Yesterday the forecast was about 50% chance for Thurs-Saturday. Today it is more like 30% and sunny for Saturday.

Well the weather here is pretty nice today. Couple of clouds hanging over the track but it looks like there's little to no threat of practice getting rained out. Let's hope that it stays this way or gets nicer. The sun is shining and the karts are racing!

Any results yet? Us west coasters are wondering how Taylor Miinch and our other buddies are doing.

So far all that's going on at the track is Class Practices. Qualifications don't start until Thursday if I'm not mistaken, and we will have a live show on Racefanradio.com that day to keep everyone posted. There are still teams rolling in and getting their gear ready for the big show next weekend, and those that are here are just trying to get a feel for the track.
Don't worry guys, you aren't missing any of the results, we will keep you posted!

As far as any official times this will not happen until Wednesday. This is the second official day of the event and the official practice day. For the first round of practices we will be checking out to make sure the timing system is functioning and we are picking up everyone. After the first session we will start providing times for posting.
