CJ,

David Lee will post his pictures in a couple of days at:
www.davidleephoto.com

David and his photographers probably took a couple thousand shots, so it might take a couple of days to get them uploaded.

Another great event from the Dismores. Thank you to them and all their staff. This will soon be the only race that really matters.

We didn't have the luck we had last year but we finished. Just wondering if anyone out there has photos or video of kart #32 backing into the fence in front of the restaurant.

Jim,
That must have been a helluva hit. We were sitting inside eating and when it happened we thought a kart hit the building. It actually shook the building-guess the energy transferred from the fence through the patio and on to the inside.

I was listening to racefanradio when that occured and it was all very audible. It sounded like she hit the fence right next to the microphones.

No...it was at least 10 feet away. Smile They're going to have to replace the post & the fence is all messed up.

I was on the track driving when it happened and didn't see it, but my 8 year old was sitting down right next to the fence with his back facing the track when the kart slammed into the fence. It bent the pole there and gravel went flying all over him. It was right where they were broadcasting the Internet Radio broadcast. He was definitely a bit shaken, but thanks to the pole he was fine. It was definitely another great endurance event at NCMP, and we greatly enjoyed our 1st run in it. We got in, we survived, and we finished Laughing

So why aren't the Sunday results on MyLaps.com yet?

I'm starting to wonder what's up... We were 10th for 2hours after the race and then 11th at pay time; sure would be interesting to see those results and do a little math... Question Question Question

Tracy's mom was in there too and said it was really loud. I didn't see it but everyone said it was huge. She hit so hard that the rear bumper pulled the left frame rail in as it deflected. Tracy was a little dazed right after but she was okay other than being real sore. In fact, we were kidding her right after the race about trying to make The Racer's Grill a drive-thru.

But seriously, shortly after we got the kart back on the track it occurred to me that hitting the pole may have been very fortunate. Call it luck or call it devine providence - I prefer the latter. I don't know if it would have happened there but I've seen karts go under chain link fence and I'll take the banged up driver and twisted kart over hurt spectators.

I was the "Color" commentator for RaceFanRadio over the weekend and I will tell you first hand that the impact was of major proportions.

From our seats in the radio booth it was no more than 10 feet from the post that Tracy hit. The only warning we got was a brief squal from the tires as she crossed the paved pit lane in front of the fence then "Boom".

We were showered with a few cubic yards of rocks and spectators were scattering everywhere except for Tracey Stegemoller's young one who I thought was going to go into shock it scared him so bad.

Had Tracy not hit the post we could have had a much worse problem. To my knowledge this is the first time that a kart has made it that far since NCMP opened.

Thank heavens no one was badly hurt.

Fabulous event once again and Mark Dismore's vision of this race becoming the "Indy 500 of Kart Racing" is quickly coming of age.

Qualifying was incredible and it awes me to see how many drivers were capable of turning very competitive times. The race itself was very intense but there was not a lot of slicing and dicing in the top 10.

Congratulations to the First Kart team of Loniewski and Larson, they had it together big time and at one point somwhere past the 100 lap mark they were turning laps faster than they qualified! Shocked

David Cole, It was great to work with you off and on all weekend, maybe next year we can get Howden to join us.

I have to thank the Dismore family for their efforts and vision that has given us a premier venue to showcase kart racing. (Right here in my home territory is a definite plus too. Very Happy )

I also want to thank Charlie Brown of RaceFanRadio.com, the supreme ruler of internet radio, for the opportunity to do commentary all weekend for this great race and I hope to do more in the future.

Thanks also have to go to the racers for the great show, without them nothing else matters.

So does anyone have the inside story as to what the delay of the final results was about?

After following our drivers progression for the last 15 laps...lap by lap with someone watching the live scoring feed with a radio and we were watching the karts on the track, mylaps doesnt reflect the results of the race might have something to do with it. (nice run on sentence)

Mylaps shows a kart passing us on 142 when it actually passed us on lap 190
