Commentators are saying they see the same glitch that the Newgarten camp does. Should be interesting.

Talking to officials, they are working out an issue of one lap during the race. They are working it out and are confident that the unofficial results are correct. We will let you know as soon as they become official.

I guess I need to edit this, we were 11th, not 10th Sad 2hours after the race we were still 10th, when I went home. I got a text from my co-driver, Jason Lee this morning: "We somehow ended up 11th: $425 vs. 10th at $1000". I guess a .25L of fuel is worth $575.

I'd like to know what the mix up was with scoring? We were announced at the end in 10th, went through tech in 10th, packed up in 10th, and drank beer in 10th. Got the 11th place check...

And I've got to give a big thanks to the OMG/Margay guys for helping us in the pits today! Jason Burgess is probably the most organized pit boss there. Thanks Jason, Jay, Otte, Steve, Wheeler, and anyone else I may have missed...

First Kart USA team did claim the win and took home $5750.00

$5000 for the win
$500 for the pole
$250 for most laps lead

The other First Kart teams had some issues that took them out of contention but before lap 50, it looked as all would finish inside the top 10. Beard and Johnson went out with ignition problems, Wagner and Smrz stuck in the late stages and Pigot and De La O were run over causing a cut rad hose and broken header that needed to be changed.

FirstKart.com would like to thank everyone that made this event possible including Mazda, Robopong and Bridgestone. Also, a special thanks to the NCMP staff and officials for an excellent event. We'll be back next you to try and defend!

Melissa and I would like to say thanks to the entire First Kart Team for a great chassis and all the help.

This was only the second race of that I have missed, while it was killing me not to be there I was never concerned.

The bigest thanks goes out to Greg Smrz who worked his butt off to make our team incredibly fast.

Congratulations to Brett and Derek who did eveything they could to bring home the best result possible.

And finally to everyone that helped make this event happen, Dismore's, track workers, officials, Racefanradio, Racersites, Robopong, Mazda, etc.....

Sincerely,

Mike Wagner

This weekend at the Robo Pong 200 at New Castle Motorsports Park there will be a demo and race showing off kartings premier C Open class of years gone by. Jeff Brown out of Detroit and Burris Racing of Huntington Beach, CA put the program together and it is called Vintage Thunder and it will give you great look into the past when racing was dangerous and sex was safe! Mark Dismore has set aside an area next to the main building at NCMP where all the Thunder Karts will be on display so come by and check them out.

Ps- Thanks Mark you da man!!!

Mike,
Thank-you for sponsering the Vintage Thunder program, the vintage karters all enjoyed the event and this was good exposure for vintage karting.

And, thanks to Mark Dismore for hosting us, the NCMP track and facilities are phenomenal !

Anyone that wants to see more of what is going on with vintage karting can look through the 2 websites I host, there are many photos, articles, message boards ....
