Still no word on this, but as I was asked for my opinion, I'll post it here and see what kind of feedback we get. The question posed to me was "How do we do this?"
Well first off, I thought this is easy. There aren't two finals, so there aren't two LCQ's so there is a lot less racing. My suggestion is during Friday qualifying, do the Stars first, followed by all the other classes as usual. This gives the S1 and SP drivers time to prepare for the WF qualifying.
Come Sunday, seeing as the Stars is a qualify/race format, The Stars race goes off first, again same reasoning.
Any and all fire away. Suggestions for the format, agreement, disagreement. Do it now, so SKUSA can hear.

Phil,
What if they did the stars final as the last thing on Saturday. That way if someone damaged a kart in the race, they would have all night to get it fixed and it would have minimum impact on the WF race. They might have to push one of the WF heat races into Sunday morning to make room for the stars race on Saturday evening?
Just my two cents. I am glad I don't have to make this call because anyway they do it some people will be upset. |

Well I had four suggestions, of which, one was as you mention above. I also suggested running the whole Stars deal on Friday. Looking at it all though, I think what I proposed here is the best solution. And makes the minimal impact on the weekend. I posted here because I want the racers/teams to respond to it now, instead of at Norman.
To even further simplify it, the WF qualifying on Friday could be used for the Stars qualifying, thereby not interrupting Friday event at all. Just combine the SP times of Stars drivers with the S1 Stars drivers to set the field for the Stars main.
Problem lies in tires used. So maybe for this event, the Stars race goes out on fresh rubber. Don't really need a second qualifying session, except for the 'tire marking'. So here is my fifth suggestion
Qualifying is really on the only hiccup in the program. Sunday has less races on the schedule than any Pro-Moto has had all year, so adding one should not even be a problem. Just where to add it. First or last. And again I say first for all the above mentioned reasons.
