Emulsion Tube is a technical name for the Needle Jet in the carburetor. In the RotaxMax Challenge, the needle jet (emulsion tube) must be stamped with "FN266". Don't know if this is the violation that DQ'd Alfonso, but it would be a good guess.
The official word is 13.5 at: http://www.maxchallenge-rotax.com/Kart/TechSpecFR125MAX-2001-02.pdf
Hope that helps |

Roger,
The emulsion tube, mostly referred to as the needle jet, is a spec item in the RotaxMax series, as is the slide (#40) and the jet needle (choice of 2, K54 & K27). For specs, SRA Karting in Quebec, has the various manuals available on their website. |

| Alfonso was an arrive and drive, he still has not a clue what it does. He does not even know what size tool it requires. |

Mark,
To my understanding of the situation, you are correct. That was the basis of the DQ; the tube in question had a different number stamped upon it.

I wonder if somehow he got a Mk. I carb??? It came with a different needle jet, floats, and jet needle.
I'm surprised that their isn't a way to "seal or mark" the needle jet with fingernail polish or QC dope. If the engine is a arrive and drive, maybe SSC can track the past rental use, person by person. That is, unless the motor was brand new. Seems as if another lesson is learned here. |

I see three things could have happened
1) it was wrong when assembled at rotax I do have a BM260 tube where the 0 is not stamped cleanly.
2) it was changed at SSC, the motor may have been run before.
3) the motor was run with a junior @ 5000', and may have been previosly leaned for this, I dont think so because this is a very uncommon part and was only raced once.
The kart andrew was running was a school kart and had never been touched.
If you know andy and andrew you know that they have no clue on delorto's or even where to get parts.
