Hi all.

I was wondering if anyone could help me with information on how to make a new helmet look as if it has been chromed. I wouldn't think it could be actual chrome, but I have seen the effect many times, specifically on helmets of Paul Tracy and Kyle Martin. Another photo of a completely "chromed" helmet is in the August SKI, page 83, on the cranium of #5c driver.
Any info would be appreciated. I've always wanted a chrome dome.

Regards,

Try Corby Concepts (www.corbyconcepts.com)

He's able to do the crome and put colour on top so you get this really cool look. Check out his site.

P.S. Sorry, not trying to advertise or anything, a lot of companies can do the crome look, I'm just familiar with this one.

Hey Robert-

Unfortunately, the chroming process isn't a 'do-it-yourself' thing. It's called "vacuum metalizing" and it's used alot in the packaging industry.

I am, unfortunately, not looking for 'someone' to do the job, but I am trying to identify the type of product that is used to achieve this look. It can't be some secret, can it?

Thanks again,
Robert
