comer 50 hesitation

Racing at club,our kids go from standing start.Here's the problem-Engine bogs and hesitates horribly from take off but when it gets going it clears up and runs great.I have the luxery of having 2 drivers in same class.I swapped carbs and problem stayed with kart.This leads me to thinking maybe a coil??any ideas or thoughts would be appreciated.

could have a small air leak. check the intake gasket and base gasket. try spraying carb cleaner on those areas while on the stand at WOT and see if the rpms change.

Check the clutch springs. That is always a big part of the problem. You can legaly cut down the linings (not the shoes) and it will take off better.

If it runs good when it gets up to speed I doubt it has a air leak. If your Kid can start with the choke on just a bit then flip it off when it gets going. That always helps when they are jetted a little lean.

Also make sure it is well warmed up. The hotter the better.
