So is there now a spec chassis design? Do all superkart chassis have to be a variance or knoc-off of an Anderson style perimeter frame? If some one can design a chassis similar in style to a common sprint chassis and it meets the length, etc requirements, and it has superkart style bodywork the same as any other ICE/FE, than what's teh problem?

I think the rule was designed to keep folks from just mounting a 250 on a 125 chassis with its dimensions and bodywork and entering it as a 250 SUperkart. I would like to think it wasn't intended to stiffle chassis design and creativity.

BTW, Frankie, I've seen some of the homologation papers for certain 125-style sprint karts that list right on the homologation papers "ICE".

Hi Guys,

The intent of the rule is exactly what Charlie stated. We encourage creativity, but do not want someone to simply bolt on some bodywork to his sprint kart and call it a legitimate superkart.

We feel it's important to keep the integrity of what a superkart is. This is for the same reason that laydown style karts have been excluded.

We do not have a set of NASCAR style rules so obviously there is alot of gray areas. Please look at the intent of the rule and go from there. If you have any specific questions, just let me know and we'll figure it out.

See you guys next week,

J.R. Osborne

OK, so are you guys telling me I'm wasting my time trying to acheive this setup, or is it as simple as just adding 2 inches to my frame? Because if it's the 2 inches that will keep me from competing, then I see no problem with adding it. I'm just trying to stay within a budget and have alot of fun in the process. I aint loaded down with duckies to go spend 10 grand on one of those special chassis you guys are talking about. So if that's the case then I should just keep my arse at home and stick with my needle and thread, eh? Come on, give me some feedback here...Wink

Put your needle and thread down, go to the garage extend the wheel base, make it as close to rules intent as possible(definately where it is stated), and call or email JR Osbourne for final approval. The more people, the better, it just needs to fit the class. Alot of people have worked hard to make a series like this happen, it is the best 250 Superkart program going or for that matter the best full series the States has ever had. You know what you need to do so Make it happen!!! Cool
Thx,
Derek
