I know this has been discussed before, but I couldn't find the old thread so here goes:

I bought a kart off ebay a while back. The kart is in Michigan (and I'm in Washington). I'd contracted with freightquote.com to have the kart shipped and they quoted me a reasonable price, but two months later the kart is still rusting in Michigan so I'm firing freightquote. But that means I still need to get the kart shipped.

I need to have the kart picked up there, I can potentially go pick it up once in is in the Seattle area. Price is obviously important, but so is have the job done right.

Suggestions?

TIA

Tim

The freightquote.com people are always hounding us for business so I can't believe they dropped the ball, oh well their loss. I don't know if freightquote gave you a discount or what but to ship a kart across the country for us with Overnite or something similar, it's around $150.00 or so, depending on weight mainly. If the kart is around 100lbs, the total will more likely be $125.00. We get a "business discount" but if you get quoted to much just start throwing out the $150.00 price and they will more than likely go for it. Look for surcharges though for Residential pickup and dropoff etc.

Good Luck!
Mark

I have used "Forward-Air" a couple of times, their warehouses are usually located near an airport.. so you would need to arrange delivery from where it is now to a Forward-Air terminal. Or, Consolidated Freight truck lines... they can do "door to door" service... Trucking companies usually are 3 to 5 day delivery, and are reasonable on prices as well..

American Freightways

Have it crated by a local crate company and picked up at the crating facilities and delivered to your door....

Not the cheapest...
