| Any truth about the falling out between WSK and Wayne and this affecting the July 2005 race??? Will the race go on without WSK being involved?? |

Yes, Laguna will be on for July. Simply put. the Laguna race is on becuase of Wayne Rainey... J.R Clausen and Wayne had some type of a problem that made Wayne want to go with another Race director. Last I heard, the race in July will be an invitational. The last race at Laguna, there was a problem that up set some people. I spoke to Wayne he did not go into the problems. Only that he wants someone else to run the race. Sooooo. if wayne is not on board to get the Laguna track for a race with the MOTO GP it just will not happen for the Superkarts. J.R. Clausen has done alot to get the ball rolling for the Laguna race no doubt. And I thanked him many times. However there were alot of other guys helping as well. J.R Can perhaps put the West coast series on and permote it out west. We are going to have the Faniale at the Barber Race track. Laguna is only one race, not the only race. _________________ Johnny West/West Racing |

An invitational huh? I was planning on scheduling my 05 season around that race, guess I better figure out what one needs to do to be invited. |

you might not want to plan your year around anything to do with Eddie Lawson or Wayne Rainey. Odds are you will come out on the loosing end.!!!!

I personally would participate in ANYTHING either Eddie or Wayne put on.
They have always been competitive, cooperative and sportsmanlike in addition to just plain GREAT GUYS every time I have been around them.
If someone has concerns about a competitors equipment (either lack of or in addition to) they should bring it up at the event. Complaining about it later on the internet doesn't do anyone any good. I for one do not believe that anyone on the Lawson/ Rainey or Rainey/Lawson team would intentionally do anything illegal at any motorsports event.
Put me on the list as a WAYNE, EDDIE and JR supporter. I will help (and have helped) any of these 3 gentlemen anytime they ask!

Wow, that was quite a statement Chris! I have had numerous lengthy conversations with both gentlemen and know that they have nothing but honorable intentions. I was at the scales, Eddie weighed exactly the same as Kyle Marting, 474 LBS! They are ambassadors of our sport and should truely be given the respect that former World Champions who represented the United States of America with CLASS are deserved to have. Your statement makes me sick. You could add 50 Lbs to Eddies kart and he would just drive it harder! Do you have video proof? You are speaking out of turn and I hope to not hear about this ever again. Eddie and Wayne DO NOT make rules for themselves, they DO NOT belittle anyone.....EVER, they try to promote our racing with the best in the world at the best track in the world.
Everyone, stop this finger pointing, all it does is hurt our sports image. Let's work creatively together. Take a page from J.R. Osbourne, Johnny West, J.R. Classen, Wayne Rainey and Eddie Lawson, The SCK, Badger, WKA and get more races, continuity, and more FUN! _________________ Riley Will

Riley,
I appreciate your thoughts on the matter and you always seem to conduct yourself like a perfect gentleman. Please do not judge me until you know the whole story. I would never make a comment like the one I did unless I was sure. Anyone that wins a World Championship earns repsect as a racer, but earning it as a person is another story. I do not want to waste the forum for counter productive issues. If you care to know the whole story I will be glad to talk to you about it. Sorry I brought it up in the forum.
Sorry If I offended anyone! I look forward to racing in Atlanta next week and in 2005!

Chris, I apologize for coming down hard on you. You are right, we should discuss these matters in a more private manner. As my reply should have been as well. I hope there is no hard feelings and to meet you soon. Are you going to Road Atlanta? _________________ Riley Will

I agree, if we want this sport to be taken seriously we must stop acting like a bunch of little kids, and more like the professionals that run other successful series. |

I began reading this topic as I was concerned that the event at Laguna was finished. At this years event, I was able to talk to several drivers and all were very much gentlemen and very helpful. Learned a ton.
To read a respose that a person has become upset over another person's writing and ultimatly receive a written applogy is an inspiring event. Further, for the other participant in the exchange to also appologise is beyond what I would have expected possible.
I guess what I am trying to say is that this group of racers (250 Supers or those reading this area) seem to have the courage to listen to another's viewpoint with an open mind. THANK YOU, you have restored my faith in karting morals as some of the other forums contain individuals with narrow points of view.
As I am back into the sport after being forced to the sideline by a major family illness (for a couple of years), I am again thankful that I took time to read this group of messages.
Gentlemen, I hope your Karma bags are as full as they should be as you have demonstrated acts that most people in this day and age are not capable of, an appology.

Please excuse the spelling containted in this respose. |
