I thought that I remembered reading on this board about applying tire dope to the inside of tires via taking out the valve stem and injecting the stuff in. After the dope is inside the tire you turn it every couple of hours. First, is this a recommended practice? Second, Is my proceedure correct? Third, would doping in this manner throw off a tires balance? I'm road racing and don't typically need to balance the wheels. Need to get one more race out of these YDS's.

Thanks,

John

Hi John, I hope you're not gonna try and run the YDS's at Sears cuz you'll probably fly off the track on the first morning practice and hit something, even with stickies you need to be very careful there in the morning warmups, there will be karts everywhere, on and off the track!I have some soft tires that will get ya thru the day, and you'll luuuuv the price.Email us. Bye.

Internal Doping ?? - Wonder what all those volatiles inside the tire would do to the pressure as it warms up ??

I wonder what it would do to the bond between the rubber & the cords? It most likely will not be good...

Exactly the questions I was wondering. Must have been my imagination when I thought I read that (or maybe it was on Pete's board). All things being equal, I'd prefer to not have a tire come apart at 90 so I think I'll skip this whole idea of doping from the inside.

Thanks,

John

hey john
tire doping will help you get that extra life out of your YDS and it will not cause them to come apart as you fear and as the other have said, track claw will work very nicely and if you are going to use them at sears this november you better use it because most likely every one else will be, try 2-3 ounces in the fronts and 3-4 in the rears and 1-2 coats on the out side and you'll be loving them
