Thunderhill race - practice on Friday September 28th racing on Saturday Sept 29th. Camping available at the track Friday night.
Sears Point - will let you know if we can get a practice day Friday November 23rd. Racing on Saturday November 24th. Highly recommend pre-entering due to complexity of getting in the gate. I think we might have the biggest race in years if trends keep trending!
I have really been enjoying myself this year and it is mostly because I have enjoyed all of you racing with me. It's always more fun when new people and old friends join us. I can guarantee you'll get a helping hand and a smile from me! |

Thunderhill: 18/22 or 19/23
Sears: 18/23
Next NCK is 9.29, which is two weeks away. Plenty of time to grind the case to fit the bigger c/s sprocket. |

At Thunderhill, all of the 80s that I know of are running a 18/23 gear ratio (Formula 80 Sprint / NCK 80 Sprint).
BTW... As Saturday September 29th is the last scheduled NCK/IKF event of the season at Thunderhill Park, Friday the 28th may be our last opportunity to test at Thunderhill until next Spring... I hope that a lot of you can make it.
Mitch

OPEN TEST DAY - Friday September 28th, the day before the next NCK / IKF event, is a test day for karts at Thunderhill Park . Please be aware that we will be sharing the track with cars on this particular test day. This means that we will have the track to ourselves approximately 30 minutes out of each hour (Rotation approximately every 30 minutes... Cars 30 minutes / karts 30 minutes).
COST - The cost for Friday September 28th is $100.00, for a kart and driver.
BONUS - Bring a friend that has not raced their kart at Thunderhill during the 2000 / 2001 season(s) and you and your friend practice for $150.00... That's two karts and two drivers for $75.00 each, contingent that one of the drivers is new to Thunderhill.
CAMPING - Arrangements have been made to allow participants to camp overnight at Thunderhill on Friday night. Fees for overnight camping are $20.00 per camper / motorhome, with an additional $10.00 fee for electrical hook-up.
As Saturday September 29th is the last scheduled NCK event of the season at Thunderhill Park, this may be your last opportunity to test at Thunderhill until next Spring... So, I hope that all of you can make it.
Feel free to direct any questions to Mitch Gillick . |

FYI, the track layout will be different, at the upcoming November event at Sears Point, due to construction.
The traditional 12-turn 2.52-mile road course will temporarily become a nine-turn 1.83-mile circuit.
Here is a hyper-link to a photo of the temporary link between turns 9 and 1, which in effect eliminates what was turn(s) 10, 11 and 12... www.searspoint.com/images/construction/Bottleopenerlarge.JPG |

I received and sent in my pre-entry form for Thunderhill today. I recommend that you get yours in too so that Tracy doesn't have to work so hard in the registration trailer! |

| I just looked at a track map and the picture. Do you think this will effect the gearing? I can't tell how this will effect the top speed on the back "straight". I'm a little sad. This will be my first race at Sears. |

John try some where in the 5.0 to 6.0 gear ratio...also you'll need to shorten the flex just a little to get the motor to rev....keep the stall speed @ 10k
then save for next year and run a shifter like I did :-)

I used to run a Yamaha and 5.0 to 5.21 is where you will probably need to be, 10,500 on the clutch, even with turns 9 - 11 missing!
I will probably try 19/23 on my 125. |
