What's happening with the 24 hour enduro for Rotax? What are the entries like at the moment? Is it open to other countries? What is the interest like?

Just like any other times the average karter gets left out
If you a a karter do you really want to pay $1500 to race against someone who has no idea what a kart is and is there because for his/her company $15,000 is small change to have their company logo on TV? |

Ray,Consider this a personal invitation to all in australia who would like to take part in this race. At this time about half of the 40 teams are spoken for and interest is very high. Thank you for your questions and we hope to see you and your team here in may.
Thank you Sincerely

michael, My appologies to you and any other karter who feels this race is leaving you out. Just the opposite is our intentions and i guess explanations are in order.
The average karter can now go to a potential sponsor with some ammunition. And the conversation might go something like this:
Mr. sponsor, we are assembling a race team that will take part in a very high profile race. We would like to have at least 7 of your employees participate with us in this event. You as a company may want to have some kind of a contest to determine who those people may be. The contest could be based on increase in productivity or what ever you may choose. This should promote a team spirit within your company and after the participants are elected, your company will now have a race team that will get exposure on national t.v.
Your company will get advertising benifits from participating in this event.
There will be 3 expierenced drivers to help your employees get ready for the race.
Your comany will recieve a factory prepped racing kart for the event that will wear you corporate colors on national t.v. and your company keeps the kart after the event.
All of your participating employees will be supplied driving suits, helments, helment supportsand gloves.
All of the participants food and lodging will be taken care of .
All parts, tires and fuel will be provided.
Mechanics for each race team will be provided.
This list of benefits for the sponsor is not all inclusive, but you get the picture.
In addition to you getting a sponsor for this event our hope is this: when the race is over and all the racers get back home, they will have forged a relationship with corporate America that will not end after this race, but will grow and promote karting as a whole around the country.
The opportunity is available, but with the opportunity comes responsibility for the team captains. The people you assemble on your team will be looking to you for guidence, but in my opinion this is just another opportunity for a chance to build a lasting relationship with your sponsor.
This race holds many other opportunites, some will see them some will not, but i do hope this will shed some light on what we are doing to further our sport.
Thanks Sincerely

I'm what you'd call an "average" karter. I don't have tons of money, I don't race the PMT, and I haven't got the money to to race it either.
I run weekends, when the wife lets me go. I build my kart on a budget.
I don't think I'm being left out. In fact I have every intention of making that race in May.
And to be truthful, Mike, there's no reason why you shouldn't. If you haven't got the scratch to make it on your own (and who does?), find a sponsor. Formulate a plan, write up a proposal, put on a suit, and go hit the bricks.
If my team has to give up a few seats to a sponsor's personel to get the support we need, then so be it. They will be welcomed w/ open arms. I'll even see to it that these novices get as much seat time as possible before the event so they're not totally green when it's race time.
I think what Gary's doing is a great idea. This event is gonna be a lot of fun. Getting there won't be easy, or cheap, but it should be well worth it.

Thanks Gary for the invitation. Are there any restrictions on who the drivers are?
