| Hey Matt, that just might work, a fat boy class for you and petite for me what a concept! I believe there are many more people out there that do not agree with the weights, but they do not want to get slammed for stepping up and saying something or be labeled a whiner for voiceing thier opinion. All I would like to see is a bigger gap between the two classes. If you want to run light run light, if you want to run heavy run heavy and deal with whatever the weight might be. I guess this is why so many in America like nascar and F-1 is not as popular, more people can relate to big ol heavy sedans than a high tech light weight missle! Nothing is going to change anyway, the weights are set, so I'm done. |

I think if SKUSA sees motors at a disadvantage this allows them to make up for any error in testing. It is always better to take off weight then to add weight. This is not necessarily an amature class, if it was, the Promoto would not have it. |
When I originally put the TAG concept together it had always been my feeling it should remain a recreational class, not something that National Championships were based on. Great regional class though. For a National Series purpose I would have chosen the Rotax, but thats just me. I don't sell parts or karts, and I don't have any financial interest in race entries. The industry felt it was ready to elevate TAG into a top level class, and as an enthusiast with the ambition to see this sport grow, I give them my every support in their decisions. _________________ John Denman

| I have a few things to say about the weights and testing. First, I believe that Marty has done his best to get all of the engine importers and engines that importers would not provide together on this project. He has put in alot of effort in a short period time under pressure from everyone with many things unexpected happening at the last minute go wrong do you know what I mean? Thanks! There were three runs done on each engine. I did see the results of the testing and was surprised that most of the engines were very close in HP, within 1-1.2. I did not see the results of the Italsistem but if it has the power stated it should have more weight added for the digital Ign. There was not one engine over 27 HP. If the digital ign engine has 31 hp it should not weigh the same as the Sonik, Comer and Biland in Sr. The easy kart had the lowest HP 24-25. The Sonik and Roc were in the 27's, Biland, leopard, Rotax, Comer, BM, 26's. In Masters I would have the Easy kart at the lowest weight 350, Leopard, Comer, BM, Biland, Rotax (with open needle on carb) weight 365, Sonik, Roc, Italsistem weight 375. Add 15lbs to SR all engines. It is up to Marty to release the results, he probably does not want to open that can of worms but I would If I was him just to get the brain damage over with. I would hope that they would be quick to make any adjustments and not wait for three races and piss everyone off if the weights they pick are a mile off. I do not know how they came up with the weights from the data I read. |

Brad,
Thanks for the posting. At 365 or even at 375 I will run the masters with my Sonik, but not at 395 as they posted before.
Are these weights being in effect from now on for a national, regional and club level, or they going to wait to make more adjustments?
Is IKF and WKA under the same rules? |

| I don't know who posted it, but I hope that he is kidding when it comes to Tag being utilized by the beginner or "fun" driver. There are quite a few A drivers that race Tag at national events. Look at RIGP last year, Matt Champagne drove for Biland and I'm sure there are going to be alot more this year. The only class that I have seen with the true "A" drivers top to bottom is Pro Shifter - nothing else. ALL of the classes have great drivers and they ALL have novice, weekend warrior drivers. |

I got an idea for some karters, people should watch their diet and be more competitive rather than stuffing their face with food, "the healthier the food the faster you are", so the rule should be that the tag clase should have a fair weight and not one where you have to add 5,000 pounds, more like 70, tell me what you think? |
