I am going to be running a Rok this next year and was wondering what different people will be using for gauges? Is there any need for multiple temp gauges? I ran a Leopard last year and liked having coolant and EGT, but with the DelOrto carb there is no adjust on the fly. Is there any reason to get anything but a basic gauge?

No matter what type of carburetor yo uhave, EGT is the best way to tune an engine. CHT is worthless.

I would want tach, water temp., and egt. It is important to get your motor to the correct water temperature range, or you are giving up power, just by being too hot, or too cold. Also, by combining max egt, and a good sparkplug read, you can zero in on your jetting. That new Dellorto, is going to be a whole new world compared to what you have been doing. When you get it right, -Pilot, Needle, Main, your ROK wil be hard to keep up with. For the money an Alfano for what you are needing to accomplish, is hard to beat.

Greg:

Does Alfano offer EGT readings? I have a Alfano Pro and I can't find a way to hook up EGT and water temp. Could you give me more informaiton on how to do this. If it can not be done what would be an altermative??

Thanks
Jim

Jim,

Your Alfano pro will not cut it for egt and cht.
You will need to pick up the Alfano Astra it does it all with better track mapping and a much better tach, display...

Approx. $600
