Just wondering how many kart racers are still going to the USGP?

I'm going. We raced today at Mid-State.
We will race next weekend at IRP and we are
still going to the USGP. To give up our
freedoms and pursuit of what we enjoy would
send a message to the terrorist psychos, that
they are winning the battle. I hear the race
is not a sell out and will have a much smaller crowd than the 500 or the 400. Also,
if the crowd is similar to last years, it will be very international (un-American).

I think the more pertinent question is whether the USGP will COME TO US this year.

I think Sean has a good point from what I've just been reading on Autosport.com. I hope they do come, because some of us are going out of our ways to miss races to be there...Either way, it's fine by me, I respect any choices by drivers in the means of safety and responsibility. JMHO, gotta get going, my business teacher's getting mad i think

We have desided to race at our local track (OVRP) rather than attend the USGP. Anyone interested in 4 tickets, turn 1? grenier@georgegrenier.com

There are several of us planning on going from MN. We are waiting to see what, if any, teams bow out before we make our final decision this weekend.

A group of us from Atlanta are planning on going. Hope to see y'all there. We will all be in "karting attire" all weekend. I can't wait to see all our dream jobs up close.

I plan on attending and meeting some karting friends there. From what I hear, the race will go on, so were gonna be there.

The start of an F1 race is like no other. Its going to be absolutely wild.

I grew up in Indy and went to many 500s and briefly worked for an Indy team in the early 80s. So I know how exciting the 500 can be. But let me tell you, last year when I first walked in IMS and heard my first F1 car--wow--all I can say I can't wait for next Friday.

I was at the first USGP last year at indy, and let me tell you, when you hear a F1 car take the last turn heading onto the front straight at full song, there is nothing, and I do mean nothing in the whole world that will give you goose bumps like that. And witnessing the brake zone that is only 50 meters and the cars hit it going 210, and exit it going 70, seems impossible. Like running into a invisible net. My buddy who went with me last year, went to the CART race the very next weekend in Houston and said that the CART cars sounded like and looked like they were on a continuous yellow flag lap. Not even close to F1. If you can go, go, you wont regret it.
