OctoberFAST Sprint Event at Las Vegas Oct 20 & 21

The Las Vegas Kart Club is hosting OctoberFAST at the Las Vegas Motorspeedway Sprint track on October 20 and 21.

This is NOT the same event that was cancelled on the same date by SCK. The SCK event was to be held on the Road Course, and this event is on a different course at the same facility. In the current issue of Karter News, the wrong event is marked CANCELLED, so I wanted to be sure and let everyone know that this is an ERROR.

I e-mailed them to see if any winged 250's would be allowed and have not heard back. Anyone have info on this? If it's at the small road course outside the speedway, it would be great fun! We have run full size cars there and it would be a lot of fun.

How big is that track? Hard to tell from the airial photos.

I belive the track that the event your talking about will run on the sprint track next to the 1.8 mile Road Course that is next to the main track (the Oval). You can find a picture of the 1.8 mile track here:

Scroll down to the track pictures, and the sprint track is in the lower right of the Las Vegas picture. The gears you would need are substantially different!
The 1.8 mile track is the one the SCK would've run on if we hadn't been "bumped". Oh well, maybe next year. Deb? Julie? Is it too early to reserve a date?

If it's the sprint track, I've seen it from a distance, and it looks small. Definatly a tough place for a big kart like an ICE.

Is the LVKC track at the LVMS a parking lot course? We're considering running the Octoberfast event and were wondering if it is the parking lot track pictured on the LVKC web site for the 2001 Hangover 100 race or is it the track pictured with multiple configurations in the Track section of the web site? The later doesn't look like a parking lot.

The LVKC sprint track at the LVMS is between .4 and .5 miles

no thats not the track. The sprint track is located just to the north. Yes it is the track with multi configurations. I think the IKF race will be on track #3 but not sure. The track is concrete and as flat as your table top, and yes it's slick.
