FirstKart.com driver Brendan Langlois had another strong finish at the SKUSA SuperNationals in Las Vegas this past weekend. Brendan raced in the very competitive TaG senior class and placed 7th overall in the 80 driver field. He was also the highest finishing Canadian driver as well as the youngest in the top ten in this senior class.

The weekend wasn’t without its challenges however beginning with a qualifying session cut short with a severed ignition wire. Brendan was posting a 3rd quickest time before the problem had him settle in the 18th position. He drove very well in the 3 heats posting finishing positions of 10th, 6th and 3rd respectively.

An 11th grid position in the main event on Sunday meant he needed a clean start and a progressive drive to move towards the front. The field quickly spread out with the front runners on the ROK TT engine package pulling away from the rest of the field. Brendan was able to advance a few positions during the 25 lap main event and posted the 3rd fastest lap on his Parilla powered First Kart chassis. Although Brendan drove extremely well, unavoidable contact early in the race causing a change in front end dynamics on his kart and the disparity between the leaders and the rest of the field would lead to Brendan coming up short by the end of the event crossing in 8th position. A post race DQ in tech for the 4th place finisher for rear track over width would advance Brendan to 7th.

Brendan would like to thank his SuperNationals tuner Tony Loniewski for the great chassis setup and mentoring as well as the entire FirstKart .com crew for their outstanding support. Thanks to sponsors Alpinestars, OTP, Holeshot Drive Systems and Kamloops, BC supporters Kamloops Realty, Excel Personnel, Surfer Enterprises, Oronge Board Shop, Fraser Financial, Visual Signs and Awards, Saturn of Kamloops and First Place Detail & Performance.
