SKUSA SuperNationals XI Constructors Cup Award Winner Announced

MG Tires SuperNationals XI presented by Mazda took place November 14-18 in Las Vegas, NV at Sam Boyd Stadium. The event was an overwhelming success and attracted the top domestic based and international teams the sport has to offer- as well as a stellar array of sponsors. But for the second year, an impressive part of the event was the turn-out of regional based drivers competing with the top shifterkart and TaG pilots in the world - and the support those regional drivers received from the top teams brought renewed excitement as well. The factory teams reward? The Superkarts! USA Constructors Championship cup of course – and once again its that experience that Superkarts! USA brings to karting community via the SuperNationals while taking the sport to new level of industry wide excitement into the new calendar year.

Superkarts! USA Constructors Championship points are awarded to the top eight finishers in each of the 10 classes in 2007 (same breakdown as the Formula One point structure 10-1) at the end of the event.

Tony Kart won the award in the inaugural year (2006) with 53 points, and once again was victorious in year two - with a total of 79 points. The winning trophy, which called Tony Kart’s US-base in Florida its home during the better part of 2007, now looks to be headed to Italy as a highlight to Tony Kart factory driver Marco Ardigo taking the SuperPro win this year.

The rest of the best? CRG follows in second place with 56 points and Birel in third with 35 points. Of note was Arrows strong showing in fourth place and GP in fifth.

Meanwhile, team “Superkarts! USA” comprised of Fritz Leesmann, Alex Speed, Connor DePhillippi and Bryan Eady (replacement for Tom Dyer) is headed to Brazil today to compete in the Granja Viana 500 alongside their Formula 1 racing heroes. EKN will have coverage of their journey down south.
