| Team News: Energy Racing Kart - SKUSA SuperNationals Report |
| |
SuperNationals XI concluded with positive results in the ENERGY Corse paddock of SYAR MOTORSPORT-BGR Factory ENERGY Racing Team, as the team produced podium finishes in 3 of the 4 classes campaigned!
While sharing both good and bad luck for on several fronts throughout the event, racing went quite well first in the Rotax Senior Group where SYAR MOTORSPORT Factory ENERGY driver Clayton Snow walked away with the 2nd Place cup, after qualifiying on the pole, and running up front throughout all the heat races.
Snow was followed in the main by his Factory teamate Toms Brobrovski who traveled to the Las Vegas event all the way from the Eastern European country of Lavtia to compete in the SuperNats, and ultimately reached the podium steps capturing a cup -finishing 4th. Brobrovski -who held fastest time in the qualifying session had a bit of a long weekend after his pole time was disqualified due to a loose airbox boot. Brobrovski nonetheless produced stellar drives in every heat, starting from last place on the grid and never finishing outside of the top ten in the 39 kart field!
Taking more good with the bad, in S1 Group- ICC Amateur, the ENERGY chassis' stayed on top throughout the weekend as Factory driver from Spain- Iago Rego dominated the field from pole, and winning all his heat races -and furthermore began his march away from the field in the main. Such wasn’t to be-as Iagos' RIZZI powered TM had a spark plug failure which would then trigger his undue mechanical DNF.
Regos' retirement however opened the door for his American ENERGY teammate-young Bud Grossenbacher, driving out of BGR Racing Ltd. Arizona. Grossenbacher and his crew kept their ENERGY kart in the front throughout the event and with Regos' walk in the main over, young Bud kept the charge on and with his consistency, brought his BGR ENERGY away with the 2nd Place Cup and job very well done.

SYAR MOTORSPORT Factory ENERGY also produced positive results in the Rotax Masters group, with Reno NV driver Dave Harwin, who ran excellent throughout practice sessions -keeping fastest time his all the day, but was later plagued by engine issues during some of the heat races. Harwin however stuck to his campaign and ultimately got things sorted out -where he could put his ENERGY chassis to work, concluding the day with yet another podium finish for the team and taking away a 4th place cup.
As things went quite well for SYAR MOTORSPORT Factory ENERGY Racing Team on several fronts -racing in SuperPro, the Top Level ICC group, was plagued with mixed luck for ENERGY Factory drivers Clayton Snow of CA and Mathias Gallepe of France. As both drivers campaigned their RIZZI TM powered ENERGY Kinetic packages, Snow ran as high as 5th in the heat races showing flashes of brilliant speed but was knocked by racing incidences and mechanical flukes such as a cracked spark plug -producing DNFs.
Gallepe also endured his share of bad luck which began with a trip to the hospital, after a heat race incident put him into the armco barrier and impacting his elbow. When Mathias was able to get on his wheels such as in the LCQ, he stormed off and left the rest of the field by more than 30 kart lengths. In the main however, Gallepe was caught up in pile up on the start which took out a number of drivers including such top talent as Speed, Rudolph, Jurca, Manetti and Piccini - which ended his race and any hopes for ENERGY to make results in SuperPro.
