Pier-Luc Ouellette (Arrow / Rotax) had a near perfect weekend in Las Vegas, Nevada, at the 11th edition of the SKUSA SuperNationals last weekend. Competing in the Rotax Max senior class, he only missed pole position in the qualifying session, where he qualified 2nd. After that session, he swept everything, winning the 3 heat races and the 25 lap final race, with a 5 second lead over the second place driver. By winning the event in the Rotax Max senior class, Pier-Luc Ouellette wins the Grand Prize and becomes the first driver worldwide to qualify for a spot in the Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals 2008 while the 2007 edition will be held in 2 weeks.

"My main goal at the SuperNationals was to get back on track after several weeks without racing to be well prepared for the Rotax Max Challenge World Finals in Dubai in two weeks. But every time I get behind the steering wheel, the only thing that matters in my head is winning. It was a good event for me, even if I wasn't totally satisfied during the practice sessions prior to qualifying. This result is excellent for my self-confidence before going to the United Arab Emirates and winning an invitation for the 2008 World Finals is fantastic!", said Ouellette.

His good friend and team mate Christophe Boisclair (Arrow / Rotax), who will also race at the World Finals in two weeks, took the third step on the podium. The road to reach this final 3rd position was much more difficult for Boisclair. "I was not satisfied with my 11th place in the Qualifying session and my first two heat races were awful. Their was contact in both heats and I didn't even do one full lap in the second heat. I got a good result in the third heat (6th) but I had to start very far back in the final race. My chassis settings were perfect in the final and I was able to pass a lot of drivers and climb to the 3rd position. I started the last race so far back (20th) that I have to be satisfied of the final result under the circumstances".

Ouellette and Boisclair came back home last night and will fly out again on Friday to the United Arab Emirates to take part in the Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals. Ouellette will race at the event in the Rotax DD2 class and Boisclair will race in Rotax Max senior.
