Group A Wrap-up
The opening round of the 2007 Florida Winter Tour went into the books at the Homestead Karting facility this past weekend as the Rotax categories made up the dance card with five classes on the schedule. Working off the success of the 2006 edition of the Tour, which saw the paddocks exploding at their seams with upwards of 250 entries per day, FWT headman Bill Wright made the bold decision to split his series into two separate back-to-back weekends per round this year in an effort to promote continued growth through increased track time. The result saw the Rotax classes moved to their own weekend and the shifter and TaG classes occupying the following date. A total of over 300 total entries for this opening weekend certainly show that the idea was sound and the racing experience that was delivered was exceptional.
