| EKN ‘Suggest a Caption’ Nov/Dec 2006 Contest |

Beginning on November 7 to attend this year’s SKUSA SuperNationals X at Sam Boyd Stadium, the EKN staff has been on a three week ‘adventure’ attending some of the biggest races of the year. After a thrilling Super Sunday at the SuperNats, watching Gary Carlton take home $10k, the EKN crew of Rob Howden and David Cole packed their bags and headed East, across the Atlantic to the Rotax Grand Finals in Portugal to cover the happenings of America’s Team Gearbox and Team Canada for the sister site, EKN.ca. Though the weather was changing every minute from sun to rain, the racing was great with Justin Melton, Mike Rolison, and Timmy Megenbier leading the way for the USA. After a few days in Porto, Portugal, the crew made the long and dreaded journey from Porto to Valencia. What was suppose to be a pleasant travel overnight, ended up with a 20 hour journey that included missing two trains, a stolen wallet, and very tired people. In the end, they were happy just to make it to the beautiful city of Valencia to cover the Formula BMW World Final for the other sister site, eFormulaCarNews.com. After three days of living in luxury as FBMW provided a great event, the team has decided to take a few days off in the city of Madrid.
Being away from the happenings of the North America karting scene, the staff decided to provide the EKN viewers with another opportunity to voice their creativity. A photo by North America’s top karting photographer, Todd McCall of OnTrack Promotions, was submitted after the September Stars of Karting National Finals in Woodbine, Ontario, Canada. The photo is of Stars of Karting ICA pilot Mitch Cobb getting ready to hit the track.
