| EKN Trackside: SKUSA SuperNats X – Thursday Morning Report |
| |
After two days of set-up, track walks and speculation, karts finally took to the temporary circuit at Sam Boyd Stadium here in Las Vegas for the opening day of the SKUSA SuperNationals X Presented by BC Ethic. All seven categories will be given four sessions on the track today to get prepared for tomorrow’s qualifying runs, which will take place after morning warm-up.
The weather for the weekend is expected to cool off from the 80°+ temps that have graced the area in past weeks. Reports are calling for low-to-mid 70s, which is just about perfect with zero chance of rain.
With the second practice rotation having been completed, the dirt and grits of the parking lot is beginning to be removed and some rubbers is starting to lay down. The pace has been steadily increasing and we will be making forum update posts throughout the day as we pull some times from the mechanics lining the hot grid fences.
Our EKN Trackside coverage will kick off with a pair of interviews taped this morning with SKUSA prez Tom Kutscher and current SKI #1 ranked ICC driver David Jurca. We’ll also tape our first EKN Happy Hour with Howden podcast this afternoon, directly from trackside.
