| Event Preview: Manufacturer’s Cup West - Santa Maria |

Karters across the west coast are in great anticipation for the second round of the George Kugler Manufacturer’s Cup West Series presented by eKartingNews.com. Heading to Santa Maria, California, October 13–15, drivers will try their skills on the Santa Maria Kart Track hosted by Santa Maria Karting Association. Today will see scattered storms today with partly cloudy skies throughout the rest of the weekend.
Devin Jones is coming off of three wins of Round 1 at Las Vegas last month. Jones, Raquel Martinez, and Adrian Starrantino made up the top three in Cadet Final 1 and 2, the largest classes of the weekend. Jones also went on to win HPV Jr. Sportsman, while Martinez stole the win in Yamaha Jr. Sportsman. WKA has since added two new Jr. Sportsman classes, HPV 1 Cadet and Yamaha 1 Cadet, allowing the cadet chassis to be used in the HPV and Yamaha Jr. Sportsman classes. Still in tact are the pre-existing HPV and Yamaha Jr. Sportsman classes requiring the chassis currently mandated by the Manufacturer’s Cup East Coast program.
The Santa Maria Kart Track facility is run by the Santa Maria Kart Association. The circuit has many different configurations, with this weekend’s event running the K layout, or their National configuration, which is the longest circuit at 7/10-mile.
