Track News: BeaveRun Motorsports Complex

For the second time this season, the Wilson Circuit at BeaveRun Motorsports Complex played host to a double race weekend. With the chance to race not just once, but twice at the world renowned kart track, competitors came from all points.

Two drivers in particular though shined in the hot and steamy conditions, winning their feature races on both Saturday and Sunday. Trent Walko won the Cadet Class, for drivers from 8-12 year old, on both days capping the weekend off with a pass for the lead on Points leader Jacob Donald as the White Flag flew signaling one lap to go. Walko held on for the win, his fifth of the season, despite heavy pressure from behind from Donald. The pair finished one-two in both races, extending their lead in the points Championship.

Audrey Staton won both Yamaha features while Brian Callan finished just behind in second on both days. Each driver won their respective Yamaha classes, Lite and Heavy. Meanwhile, the Junior Super-Can class saw a bit of a shake-up at the top as Ellwood City's Blaise Haynes won the Saturday feature followed by Chris Horan's Victory on Sunday. The Canonsburg, PA driver's victory on Sunday marked his second of the season.

The TAG class once again featured close and exciting racing throughout the field with a national flair. Pennsylvania native Jen Williams, now a Florida resident, joined the field in her powerful ICA class machine and won the Saturday race while Ted Amidon made the tow from Tully, New York to finish second, winning the TAG class. Amidon followed up the performance with another second place finish on Sunday. Only this time he was second in the class as well as Chris Livengood topped a strong field. John Bokovitz from Brecksville, Ohio finished third on both days, just .2 seconds behind Amidon.

Jeff Oleen made a trip to BeaveRun with his 125cc Shifter on Saturday, besting a Shifter field that also consisted of Stock Shifter drivers and 80cc Junior Shifter drivers. Oleen beat Bryan Dudwika to the checkers followed by Stock Shifter drivers Brian Goebel and Jeff DeMello.

On Sunday however the Stock Shifters ruled the day as Goebel and DeMello not only finished first and second in class but also in the overall Shifter Feature!

Also in attendance were a slew of 4-Cycle racers who traveled from Maryland, New York, Ohio and Pennsylvania. These drivers were in town as a tune up for the upcoming WKA Gold Cup event that is scheduled to take place at BeaveRun from August 3rd through the 6th. This race features the best 4-cycle powered racers in the country competing on the full .82 mile Wilson Circuit.

Next on the schedule for the BeaveRun Championship Series is Race Ten in the twelve race season to be held on August 20th.
