The final day of action concluded under the sunny skies of Alabama for the opening round of the United States Superkart Championship Eastern Division. J.R. Osborne and Andy Kiker both swept the weekend, earning top Qualifier honors and taking victories in the Prefinal and Final.
The Formula E race was a two kart battle, between Osborne and Reggie Brown, both on P-1/BRC250FE packages. The two made their way through lap traffic, putting distance on the rest of the field. Brown lead for the first half of the race until Osborne was able to make the move. Returning to the USSC program with a great weekend was Frank Widmoser. The Prefinal winner from last year’s April Barber event finished third both days this weekend. Johnny West struggled with carburetion problems but managed to finish fourth with Jerry Echols rounding out the top five.
0.494 seconds separated Intercontinental E Final winner Andy Kiker and Jim Ingram. To two battle throughout the 20 lap feature. Ingram had troubles in practice and backed his ride into the wall. Fortunately, only the wing and bumper were damaged and was able to contend for the win. Tim Richardson capped off a strong weekend with a third place finish. Jason Slahor beat out Rob Morris for the fourth spot at the line by 0.127 seconds.

EKN will have full results and report on the WKA National Road Racing Series events from this past weekend in Birmingham later in the week.
