EKN confirmed at the Kart Expo International that Tyler Dueck has signed on with Champion Racing/Intrepid to their ICA driver lineup. The recent Jim Russell/RACER Trophy recipient will be making the move from the Italian Motors squad, where he has been since 2002, to join former IM teammate Jordy Vorrath under the Champion Racing/Intrepid tent.
“I talked with Jordy after he signed with Champion and thought I would be a good fit for their ICA program,” said Dueck in a phone conversation with EKN News Desk Manager David Cole. “It’s tough leaving IM and the Valiante’s, as they have helped me in so much in my karting career.”
Dueck will contend the Stars of Karting Western Division with Champion Racing teammates Wes Phillips to compete in the Eastern Division and Jess Peterson to contend both the East and West schedules. Dueck will also compete in the SCCA Formula Russell Championship during the 2006 season as well.
In 2005, Dueck finished fourth in the Stars ICA Western championship and seventh overall after getting involved in a first turn crash at the Stars Finale. He earned six top five finishes with one pole position. Dueck was also selected as one of the Skip Barber Karting Scholarship “Sweet 16”. |
